CORA'S POV

“Is everyone ready?” Tanya asked.

We're outside the church. Her wedding ceremony had just ended and we're now waiting for her to throw the bouquet. I'm just so happy that Tanya finally tied the knot with her long-time first and last boyfriend. I actually envy her love story. She didn't go through so much drama, she has a very healthy relationship and I'm wondering what was their secret.

“Here you go, one, two, three!” she throws it, and... it landed right on my hand.

Una kong hinanap matapos ko iyong makuha ay si Jared na nakatingin pala sa akin. His smile is teasing me, so I rolled my eyes at him. Lumapit ako sa kanya and handed him the bouquet. Mas lalong lumakas ang hiyawan nila. Okay, I'll let our fans enjoy it.

“Ikakasal na ba tayo?” he asked as he's wearing a perky smile.

“Soon.” I winked at him. His eyes widened slightly, and I felt a fleeting slip of victory. Alam kong kinikilig na naman siya ngayon. Well, he always does since I've confessed.

-Flashback-

After some introductions, telling the story behind the proposal—hindi ko inaakalang biglaan ang proposal ni Silver dahil lang may pinag-awayan sila. I wonder kung ano iyon, but I no longer need to know—after giving them gifts, toasting, and the wedding plans were already told, Dahlia and Silver went to our table straight away.

“Congrats, soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Chavez!” Trisha said as soon as they sat on two empty seats intended for them.

“Thank you,” Dahlia replied with a smile plastered on her face.

My eyes caught Silver staring at me. He smiled. I think he thought I can't be able to attend his engagement party. Sinabi ko kasi sa kanya na pag-iisipan ko muna, but Jared persuaded me and he succeeded, as you can see.

“Dahlia, Silver, let me design your wedding ring, it's for free. 'Yon na lang 'yong wedding gift ko para sa inyo.” Dahlia smiled at me right away and extended her gratitude.

“Thank you, it would mean a lot to us,” Silver uttered.

I released a deep breath. “But, I have something to tell you.” Their attention shifted on me. It took me a minute before I could muster my courage and said, “I'm sorry.”

Three days before this engagement party happened, Jared talked with me.

“Sinabi ko na kay Gizelle na hindi na tayo at tinapos mo na rin 'yong paghihiganti mo, pwede mo na bang sabihin sa kanila 'to at pwede na ba tayong humingi ng tawad?” he asked.

We're on my room's balcony. The wind that passes through me made me shiver even more. I looked at the night sky and expelled a heavy sigh.
