Jasmine visited Paul the next day, and he's still in his coma. Jasmine spent most of her time quietly talking to her husband, caressing him, and telling him she loves him and all that jazz.
The hospital staff gave Jasmine her space while she was with her comatose husband. She looks down at Paul and strokes his hair. Tears fill her eyes.

"Paul, I'm here again, sweetheart. I know it's been two days, but I really miss you at home. I miss our conversations, I miss having you beside me, I miss your hugs and kisses, but more importantly, I miss you. I hope you wake up soon. Especially the promise you made about never leaving me. I'm scared that I might lose you because of this awful coma. Please come back to me at some point. I want you back, baby." Said Jasmine. She kisses Paul's forehead afterwards.

The door to the room slowly opens. Jasmine looks up to see John. He walks up to her and puts his hand on her shoulder. "Hi, Jasmine." He said quietly. Jasmine sniffles. "Hi, John." She said. John looks down at Paul and a lump appears in his throat. "Still comatose, huh?" He asked as his voice cracked. "Yep. It's been two days." Jasmine said. "Do you talk to him, even though he can't hear you?" Asked John. "Yeah." Said Jasmine.

John rubs her back. "Believe me, Jas, I wish he'd wake up as well." He said. "Would you like to say a few words to him?" Jasmine asked. "I would, thank you." John said. Jasmine steps aside as John sits in the chair she was sitting on. He looks down at Paul and gives his hand a gentle squeeze. Jasmine tears up while she watches.

"Hey, Macca, it's John. I know you can't hear me, but I want you to know that the rest of the band really misses you, especially me. Even our fans are worried about you. But I know deep down you'll get out of your coma at some point. I can feel it." Said John. Tears fall from his eyes after he stops talking. Jasmine approaches him, he stands up from the chair, and finally lets his emotions out as Jasmine wraps him into a hug.

"I'm worried too, John. Believe me." Said Jasmine. "I haven't cried this much since the day my mother was killed after being hit by a car." John said. Jasmine rubs his back. After a while, she sits back on the chair. She then cradles Paul's head, strokes his hair and cheek, and sings to him.

Constant as the stars above
Always know that you are loved
And my love shining in you
Will help you make your dreams come true
Will help your dreams come true

The lamb lies down and rests it head
On it's mother's downy bed
Dolphin plays in the moonlight's glow
And butterfly dreams of a violet rose
Dreams of a violet rose

I'll cradle you in my arms tonight
As sun embraces the moonlight
The clouds will carry us off tonight
Our dreams will run deep like the sea
Our dreams will run deep like the sea

Constant as the stars above
Always know that you are loved
And my love shining in you
Will help you make your dreams come true
Will help your dreams come true

After Jasmine finished singing, she looks up at John, who gives her a nod. The doctor approaches shortly thereafter. "Once again, I was very moved by your singing, Jasmine." He said. "Do you know how long he'll be in his coma?" Jasmine asked. "Usually comas last for several days, but they can last longer sometimes. So right now, it's unknown." Said the doctor. "Oh." Said Jasmine quietly. The doctor checks his watch. "Okay, visiting hours are over, but you may come back tomorrow." He said.

Jasmine looks back down at Paul and kisses his forehead. "I'll see you tomorrow, Paulie. I love you." She said. As John and Jasmine exit the room, they exchange a glance. "Hang in there, Jasmine. I'm here for you, if you need a shoulder to cry on." Said John. "Thank you, John. I have my sisters as well." Jasmine said. "Yes, of course." John said. As more tears fall from Jasmine's eyes, John gives her a comforting hug.

A little while later, the two exit the hospital and make their way home, going their separate ways.

Here's a quick recap on the song that Jasmine sang for Paul. It's called Constant As The Stars Above by Jessica Brown. It may not be a 60's song, but it's always good to use your imagination if you know what I mean. ~ Amanda
