"Feel free to come again for dinner, you can come alone so that our mother-in-law's time wouldn't be disturbed," Ms. Bakugou tells me as she walks us outside. My cheeks heat up the moment she said "mother-in-law", I mean it sounds amazing that they like me but thinking about the future that far ahead made me flustered. Bakugou told her off, only to get a pinch on the ear, and his dad stepped in to apologize and pull her away and send us off. Bakugou sighs loudly beside me and I couldn't help but laugh at his frustration.
"Well, at least they like me, right?" I tried to be optimistic.
"Of course they'd like you, it's the first time their son was interested in someone in a way that didn't involve murder or violence," he shrugs before stopping to look at me. "You really did change me, most people wouldn't recognize me now because of you and your silly charms."
"Are you one of those soft bad boys now?" I joked before continuing, walking back to the campus as I spoke. "I'm glad I'm here, I feel free, I'm glad you found me even if it was just a coincidence."
He was about to speak again but pulled me to him instead, ducking down on the ground as a knife whizzed through the air above us. We quickly scattered on our feet and changed our stance, knowing that we were being ambushed. Part of me wished it was just a robber but the other part knew it was a group, much scarier.
From the shadows, Shigaraki emerges with my pouting sister beside him, speaking to me dripping with sarcasm and loath. "Enjoying yourself?"
"More than you'll ever know," I spat, reaching for the tiny swiss knife I kept in the cardigan and pricking myself. With that, both parties charged at each other, I aimed at Shigaraki, avoiding my sister's swings at me. I knew that she was hesitating but I pinned her down with my quirk before she lost her empathy for me.
I looked behind me to see that Bakugou didn't need help from keeping Twice off of him so I smirked as I charged at Shigaraki, only for Kurogiri to appear behind him and warp him elsewhere. I frantically looked around me until I heard a frustrated scream behind me.
He had held Bakugou by the neck, his pinky lifted, taunting me, with Twice restraining both of his arms.
"Run! I'll be fine!" Bakugou shouts at me, clearly struggling as he keeps telling the others to die and go to hell. I stood still, frozen in fear.
"If you run, he'll be biting the dust, oops, I meant he'll turn into dust," Shigaraki laughs maniacally at his poor attempt at joking.
"Let him go, he doesn't have anything to do with this," I plead.
"I'll make an honest deal since you're, in fact, valuable to the group," he moves his pinky a little to scare me before looking at me seriously, "It's your life or his."
I didn't hesitate and surrendered immediately, with Bakugou protesting and swearing loudly. Shigaraki let go of his neck, grabbing his arm instead. "This is why being a hero makes you weak, you're not the strongest if your life is easily thrown away. You weren't strong enough then, you're not any stronger now."
Kurogiri opened up a warp for me as my sister held my arm, pulling me in. I gave Bakugou one last look before stepping in, watching him angrily shout at Shigaraki, what I heard next broke me. A blood-curdling scream as Shigaraki wilted his arm away before Kurogiri got him and Twice out of there.
I fell on my knees and cried out.
"That wasn't your fault, well, it was, but I would've kept my word if that brat kept his mouth shut."
Without noticing, I had punched him, taking deep and shaky breaths. I was about to punch him again when Twice and my sister held me back.
"You said it yourself, I wasn't worth putting in the front lines, and now you say that the group needs me. You can't say that it's for my sister because let's face it, you don't even like her in the first place, you need her for her power, now what do you want with me?" I shout, thrashing around and trying to break myself free.
"We found out that your sister can temporarily use the power of whoever she copies. And we studied your blood," he wiped the blood from his nose and sat down, not even bothering to fight back. "The hidden quality of your quirk is that it can be used to transfer someone else's powers to a different vessel. It's like a natural 'All for one'," he looks up and smiles mischievously.
I stopped struggling and tried to process everything he said. The biggest villain that erased the Symbol of Peace was imprisoned, and I tried to run away from all this, only to find out that I'll be the very thing they need to watch the world burn.
"I won't let you do that," I shakily answered. "I won't let you use me for something like that"
"We can always threaten you using your buddies at the academy, you see, being free only gives us more leverage against you."

Bakugou's POV
I hear a bunch of footsteps stomping closer. It's too late. I sent our location after Toga and I got up because I accepted the fact that I can't take on it alone.
"Kacchan! What happened? Your arm! We need to get to the hospital." Midoriya rushed to my aid with Eri beside him.
"Forget about me, they got Toga, the League got Toga," I cried out angrily, more upset at myself than at them.
"We'll get her back but we need to regroup--" Midoriya gets cut off as Eri suddenly puts her hand on my arm and uses her quirk. I thought that Mr. Aizawa was going to stop her as Midoriya panicked but he just watched, getting his quirk ready. I watched as my arm grew back, the pain disappearing. I stretched my arm, thanking her, and got up as if my arm wasn't wilted away in the first place.
Midoriya quickly regained his composure as we all walked back to campus. I explained everything that happened, who was present and what Shigaraki had said about "needing" her back in the group. It had to be a more sinister reason than just her sister. Everyone turned to look at me, each with a determined look on their faces.
"Let's go rescue her."
"We're UA students for a reason."
"We go beyond and.."
"Plus Ultra!"
