"Come on, Luna, we're going to be late, and it's only the first day of school!" complained Rachel.

"Okay, okay... I'm coming, I'm coming!" Luna rolled her eyes as she swung her backpack over her shoulder, grabbed her lunchbox, and headed towards their driver.

Luna had green eyes, light chestnut-brown hair, and was really beautiful. She and her older sister looked very similar, but her sister had a bit lighter hair and brown eyes. At school, Luna was a typical high school girl, but at home, she was rich. At her old school, she was neither popular nor an outcast.

Luna, Rachel, and their parents had just moved into a new house a week before. It was a giant, three-storied mansion that had a fresh lawn, a fountain in front of their house, and a pool in the backyard.

Their mansion was relatively close to their new high school, only three blocks away. Still, Rachel, who was always one to show off, insisted that they ride to school in their white Ferrari.

They could see heads turn as they rode down the three blocks, pulling into the parking lot of Seaside High School. Their driver dropped them off at the front of the school, and they both hopped off. Luna was in tenth grade, and Rachel was in twelfth, so they had to go their separate ways.

"So you're the new kid," snapped a girl as she approached Luna, "I thought you would be taller and prettier." The girl who spoke had brown eyes and blonde hair with pink highlights. Everything about her was near perfect, except that her eyes were too wide apart. She was followed by a group of girls who looked like the "mean but popular" group.

"Excuse me? Did you just insult my looks?" Luna rolled her eyes. "Well you're one to talk, " she said.

"I'm warning you. Don't cause any trouble," hissed the girl, narrowing her eyes.

They stared at each other for several more seconds, before the girl turned on her heels and stalked towards the school building, her wannabes following her.

"Who was that?" Luna asked a girl nearby.

"She's Emma Smith," replied a girl with dark brown hair and a cute headband. "Her father is the principal, so she could even get you expelled if she wanted to. You really don't want to be on her bad side, so try not to mess with her."

Ring!!! Ring!!! Ring!!!! The bell rang, and students ran towards class, leaving just a few stragglers behind.

Luna stumbled into her Honors Literature class a few minutes later. Her eyes wandered around the room, landing on one particularly blonde head.

"Ugh..." she muttered. "Just my luck..."
