Judging criteria

Judges are required to read a minimum of first five chapters of a book.

Judges are expected to judge each book using the following criteria:

Book cover and summary  (10 points)
Is the book cover appropriate for the theme? How appealing is the book cover? Does the summary entice you? First impression?

Use of language(10 points)
Did the writer use proper grammar and punctuation to form proper sentences? How good is the vocabulary and sentence formation?

Plot (10 points)
Are the main events of the story arranged in a cohesive manner? Is the plot well paced? Are there cliffhangers at the end of chapters that keeps you wanting more?

Character development(5 points)
How is the change in the characters of the story from start to finish? Character representation?

Writing styles (10 points)
Is the writer's description of events good? Is the writer able to create an image of what's happening in the story in your mind? Is the text difficult or easy to read and understand?

Originality/ Creativity  (5 points)
Is the story like none you've ever seen?

Total: 50 points.

What is the main purpose of the poem?

Impact of the poem on you( 5 points)
How did the poem make you feel? Did you cry? Did it give you joy?
