Hello my lovely avid readers! (: It's been over a year since I've updated this story, and I'm so sorry for that. Mainly, I think it was because I stopped playing League for quite sometime and now that I'm playing it again, I couldn't help but think about this story. Then I realized I hadn't finished it, and that began to bother me. So, here I am… again. I promise that this isn't the last chapter, and there's many more to come. (: Also, I think I'm going to start writing a love triangle about Cait/Jayce/Twisted Fate. If you guys would read that, let me know. I've had some suggestions about it, and think it's a fabulous idea. If you have any other crossovers you'd like me to do, let me know as well. I have all the time in the world to write now-a-days. (:

So, as we left off, poor Garen and Jarvan were about to receive the news that Demacia has been overtaken by Swain. Here we gooooo!

Chapter 20:

Swain waltzed into the throne room of the castle, his eyes looking at the gold interior in a glare of triumph. He'd done it! But was he that surprised? He was trained highly in military tactics, and diversions were one of most common tactics to be used. He just didn't think that Demacia would be that careless; after all, they practically just let him walk through their gates. The crow on his shoulder squawked in delight as LeBlanc emerged with King Jarvan from a hallway to their left. The King was bloodied and bruised, being held up by two Noxian guards. Swain walked over, with a smile on his face, mostly just to spite the battered king.

"Swain, you have no idea what you've done! When my son realizes Demacia has been taken over by the likes of you –"

"He'll come running back here with his army? Let him. I'll be sure to give you a front row seat to see your army be slaughtered," Swain sneered. King Jarvan's head fell. "Take him."

The Noxian guards pushed Jarvan the opposite way down the hallway, leaving Swain and LeBlanc alone in the throne room. Swain hobbled toward the golden throne, surrounded by a lush collection of evergreens, their vines climbing up the long golden columns holding the ceiling. As he sat down on the throne, he couldn't help but wonder how these people could live in such a bright environment. It was beginning to take its toll on his brain, therefore, it obviously needed a more blackened tone.

"Have you trapped Karthus and Nocturne in the underworld?" he asked.

"Yes," LeBlanc nodded with a smile.

"Good," Swain leaned back. It was time to get down to business. "Send for Marcus De Conteau."

"Whatever for?" LeBlanc raised an eyebrow.

"The Royal Vanguard is bound to return… and who better to greet them than Katarina's father? If that won't make her and Talon change alliance, I don't know what will," he replied with the evilest grin LeBlanc had ever seen him grin.

She grinned in return. "Right away."

Ashe didn't know how she was going to tell Prince Jarvan and Garen the horrible news. It wasn't the news itself that troubled her the most; it was that no one had seen it coming. How could they have ever been so neglecting of their enemy? Why did it come as a shock to them that Swain would've done this? As Ashe tended over Katarina, her mind couldn't help but wonder. She should be out there, on the battleground, with her husband and dear friends. Why was she aiding a Noxian in the first place? Especially one who had killed so many of her people… Jayce stood in the corner, his back against the doorframe, watching Ashe intently. A part of him was worried that she would snap at any moment and kill the woman she was tending too, but he knew she was gentle, kind, loving, and trusted Garen's better judgment. But, did he? As of this moment, he wasn't sure.

After all, Garen had brought an assassin that had killed so many of their friends and loved ones to aide them in their quest against the city-state she originated from? This was most unlike The Might of Demacia. In their many years of combat together, Jayce remembered all the times Garen had spoken of his hate for Noxus and all their inhabitants. And why wouldn't he feel that way? The rest of Valoran did, to the point of wanting to wipe that evil city of the face of the earth. Even Jayce himself had quarrels with people of the city: Viktor had stolen his invention and tried to harness it to destroy Valoran and rebuild it from the ground up. His eyebrows came together as Katarina stirred and her emerald eyes flickered: did she have her blades on her? Was she suddenly going to spring up and attack? But, Katarina's eyes closed and she laid still once again. Jayce heaved a sigh of relief.
