Hey everyone! I haven't had any responses on doing a story between Cait/Jayce/TF yet. That is something I want to pursue, so I want to know if anyone would read that one after I finish this one. :p Anyway, I wanna give you all a little update on me: I've graduated and have a family now. My daughter, Christine, was born on Nov 2nd, and she is a doll. So, wish me luck in parenting! Also, if anyone has suggestions of where the plot should go, please leave a review for me so I can keep this going in the direction that you guys want it too. :D

Chapter 21:

Katarina awoke to Garen sitting on her bedside. His brown bangs fell slightly down his forehead, and his expression was soft and warm. But, his eyes shone bright, blue, and cold. She lifted herself slowly off the bed, so she was propped on her shoulder and leg. Her red locks fell over her shoulders as she looked at him curiously.

"How are you feeling?" he asked.

"Fine," she replied with a sigh. She looked around the room: the foundation of the ice had made it glow an eerie blue, yet somehow the room was warm. The windows were frosted, yet somehow you could still see through them. It was quite beautiful, in an icy way.

"I think we need to talk," Garen said and clasped his hands. Katarina's heart skipped a beat. "I know what you're up too. I know that the entire plan was to lure me and my army away from Demacia so Swain could overtake it."

Katarina couldn't believe her ears. "What are you talking about?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about," Garen sneered, his voice becoming increasingly angrier and harder. "Don't you play dumb with me. But, actually, you know who the dumb one is? Me! I fell in love with a traitor, despite what my instinct told me. I trusted you – even though you and your kind are my sworn enemy. I let you twist my mind and make me think that you weren't evil, but this entire time, you have been."

"Garen, I don't understand what you're talking about," Katarina sat cross-legged in front of him, her emerald eyes wide and innocent, and her heart beating at a million miles a second. "I never betrayed Demacia! What would ever make you think that?"

Garen laughed. "I told you not to play dumb with me, Katarina."

"I don't understand," she repeated for the second time, looking into Garen's eyes, trying to figure out what he was talking about. "What is this all about? I love you, Garen."

"Love?" Garen spat and stood up, his blue eyes tearing into her soul. "Don't you ever speak to me about love again, traitor. As soon as we get back to Demacia, I'm handing you back to your leader. We'll see how deals with you then."

With that, Garen walked out of her room, slamming the door behind him. The ice sickles shook and threatened to fall with the vibration. He left Katarina sitting on her bed, tears in her eyes, and her body feeling like someone had thrown it from fifteen stories high. Her bottom lip quivered, and her heart felt like it had turned as cold as the climate of Freljord. He was giving her back to the Noxians. What if there was no changing his mind? There was no tell of the horror that would beseech her when she was handed to Swain. No doubt he would make an example of her and use her as a prize. That alone in itself was enough to make Katarina collapse in muffled sobs.

Gangplank finished tying the last rope down to the side of his ship. Caitlyn looked to Jayce in comfort, and he pulled her into a hug. Caitlyn hugged back, putting her hand on the side of Jayce's cheek, and then boarded the ship. Prince Jarvan took his place at the side of his army, whom half was above deck and the other half below. Garen stood beside Gangplank, his arms crossed over his heavy armor, slightly eyeing Katarina, who was standing beside The Frost Archer. Ashe looked longingly to her husband from over the damp wood, her crystal blue eyes full of worry for her kingdom. Tryndamere raised his hand in a wave as the ship began its voyage into the water.
