Chapter 6 - Secret Revealed?

*Inuyasha's POV* 

It was early in the morning and the sun was shining through the window of my bedroom. I had just woken up and was in the process of getting ready for school, but I wasn't able to get a good night's sleep last night. I couldn't fall asleep with everything that was on my mind about everything that happened yesterday, about Kikyo abusing Kagome, that recording Sango showed me, when I saw Kagome all beaten up during lunch, and when Sango told me about Kagome's breakdown. It was all so much that I just couldn't take it all in and process it properly.

I sighed sadly to myself. "Nonetheless, I'm going to follow Kikyo after school, so I can find out for myself if what I'm hearing about her is true. I can't truly believe this unless I see it with my own eyes. Kikyo can't really be this evil, can she? I mean, sure she has a temper, but she would never actually hurt anyone, would she?" Even as I say that to myself I'm still unsure because I could just very well be denying the truth of Kikyo's true colors. I mean, you can't blame me for denying what I'm hearing, Kikyo's been my girlfriend for so long now. I sigh again. "Well, there's only one way to find out and that's to carry out my plan to follow Kikyo after school." I said to myself...

"Inuyasha! Breakfast is ready! Are you coming down to eat?" A voice said from downstairs.

"Coming dad! Just give me a minute to get my stuff for school!" I shouted down so dad could hear me.

"Just hurry so your food won't get cold!" He shouted back.

"Okay!" After I said that I started grabbing my school supplies and some other stuff that'll help me spy on Kikyo once I follow her. About a minute or two later I got all my stuff ready. I grabbed my bag, walked out of my room, and walked downstairs to see my father sitting down at the kitchen counter eating breakfast. He looked up and smiled when he saw me. 

"Ah, good morning Inuyasha" He said, I sat down on the other side of the kitchen counter and started eating my breakfast. "Morning dad" I responded. "Did you sleep well?" He asked me "I've had better night's sleep..." My dad looked at me a little curious about my behavior. "Why? Did you not sleep well last night?" He asked "Oh, it's nothing like that, I guess I just wasn't very sleepy last night...." I replied tiredly. "Oh, I see. Well, okay, if you say so."

It was quiet for at least 5 minutes, and to be honest, the awkward silence was starting to make me uncomfortable. 

"Hey, dad? Can I ask you a question in a hypothetical sense?" I asked.

"Hm?" Dad looked up from his food, he swallowed before speaking. "Sure son, what's is it?"

I thought for a moment so what I would say wouldn't sound suspicious. "So...say that you were dating someone and you thought you knew what they were like, but really they weren't who you thought they were? What would you do if you were in a situation like that? A-Again this is all hypothetical, hehe...."

Dad looked at me curiously then looked like he was thinking about how he would answer my question. "Hmm....well, if I were to find out that someone I was dating wasn't being truthful and had bad intentions then I'd break up with them. If I knew how they truly were and still stayed with that person then it'd turn into a toxic relationship, so it'd be best if I just stopped seeing that person." My father answered truthfully. I don't know how but he's always been good with words, even in bad situations. "I see..." I mentally sighed to myself.

"Why did you ask a question like that anyway? You don't normally ask questions about relationships." My dad asked me with a somewhat suspicious tone of voice. 

"Oh, umm...I was just curious is all, I had no specific reason for asking" I tried playing it off but it doesn't look like it's working. I mean, as long as he doesn't know it's about Kikyo then I should be--!
