I was thinking last night, what if there was a book editor/publisher who had a friend that constantly tried to pitch like super mainstream concepts to them but they had no idea that the concept was already a thing.
Like the friend calls the editor at like 3 a.m. and says, "Dude, I just thought of the best thing ever. You know how books have a main character? What if this person had someone that liked them? But then, plot twist! Another person likes the main character! And the main character can't make up their mind about which one to choose! What do you think?"
And the editor just hangs up in exasperation.
Honestly, I kind of ship it.
