"The depth of the love of parents for their children cannot be measured.
It is like no other relationship. It exceeds concern for life itself.
The love of a parent for a child is continuous and transcends heartbreak and disappointment."

-James E. Faust

There was no winning. Oliver had finally come to that realization in this very moment as he laid on his side in the nexus chamber. His eyes glanced over to where Bruce and John seemed to lay in the same position. They weren't able to stop Rubicon, but they were able to minimize the number of deaths. It would seem that few number of deaths were enough to juice up Darhk's idol and allow him to soak up more power.

"I'm not going to kill you." Damien says as the building surrounding them begins to shake. "Well, not right now, at least." Oliver looks up to the man, and can't help but see how pompous he is right now. "Instead, I'm going to regain control of Rubicon. That way, when the whole world goes all "Dr. Strangelove," you can feel your skin melt from Armageddon." with another flick of his hands, Darhk sends Oliver and John flying into a hard, rock wall before leaving. That's when the nexus begins totally collapsing. Huge rocks begin falling, and if they don't move quick, they won't make it out of here alive. For a moment, Oliver lies there, and for some reason the possibility of this all just ending right now doesn't seem too bad. Because he's all out of moves. Damien Darhk is now beyond powerful, so if he dies right now, maybe he'd finally be at peace.

"Oliver, let's go!" John yells as he jumps to his feet. Oliver glances over to his friend and remembers that there's more at stake here and he couldn't run away from this. He jumped to his feet.

"Come on! We got to go now!" Bruce yells, and both men follow behind him.

Laurel sat watching Ari pace back and forth in front of her. She'd been tempted to tell the girl to sit, but it had been a couple of hours since Oliver left and now Ari seemed completely worried.

"You know I'm sure he's alright." Laurel said hoping some reassurance would help. Ari looked over to the woman with a look of annoyance. "It's late Ari, you should really get to bed." Ari stopped pacing, and turned to Laurel about to tell her where she can put that suggestion, but the doorbell rang, and Ari bolted toward the door. Laurel jumped to her feet and quickly followed because she knew it wasn't Oliver ringing the doorbell to his own house. That logic seemed to pass Ari who hoped it was Oliver who would be standing outside the door. The moment she pulled open the door, that hope dwindled because it was someone who always annoyed her.

"Hey kid," Ethan greeted with a smile. Ari stared at him for a moment before slamming the door in his face. She turned walking past Laurel back to the living room to continue her nervous pace. Laurel pulled opened the door, a bit surprised to see Ethan as well. "Laur, hey. What are you doing here?"

"Babysitting. What are you doing here, so late?"

"I needed to talk to Oliver." the man glanced into the house before turning back to the woman. "But I figure since you're babysitting, he's not here."

"No, he's...out." Laurel said and Ethan nodded. She noticed he looked slightly nervous. "Is everything alright?" Ethan stared for a moment before nodding.

"I've been offered a job. Head of Emergency Medicine." Ethan said and Laurel smiled. It was an honest smile because she knew just how hard the man worked at the hospital and if anyone deserved the position it was him.

"Oh my God. Congratulations. That's so wonderful. You really deserve it. I can't believe GMH is promoting you again."

"That's just it. They're not." Ethan said before taking a deep breath. "The job is in Metropolis." her eyes widened again. She was supposed to say something, but she was speechless. "Laur-" she looked back up to him and smiled. "I haven't accepted the job yet."
