"Some days I spill out the truth as if I am brave.
As if I am not scared of anything.
As if I will not regret it later."━━━━━━━━━━━━
Coach Finstock tosses the ball to the first player, a kid named Greenberg, it was no secret that Coach hated him. Jackson is on him in seconds, smashing his stick down on the poor kid's gloves, sending the ball flying out of the pocket.
"Nicely done, Jackson," Coach says, "Greenberg, that was a pathetic display of amateur ability. Do a lap." As Greenberg takes off into a run, the next player charges. A moment later he lands on the ground with a sickening thud. Lulu, who is sitting on the bench watching them practice, notices how Scott gazes off with far too many thoughts swirling in his head, not noticing the other players backing up behind him, "McCall, let's go!" He snaps to attention, realizing he's at the head of the line. Coach tosses the ball towards him as Scott goes for the shot but Jackson comes at him with a volley of slap checks, "Watch the slashing, Jackson!" As the ball is knocked out of his grasp, Scott winces in pain. He cradles his forearm where Jackson's stick came down especially hard between the glove and elbow pad. Lulu gasps in shock, she had a few words in her mind that she wanted to tell Jackson.
"Still want to be first-line, McCall?" Jackson taunted, gritting his teeth in anger, Scott looks up to reveal his brown eyes are rapidly brightening to yellow.
"I think Scott's losing control," Lulu mumbled to herself while she bounces her leg up and down in panic.
"McCall, my grandmother can move faster than that and she's dead!" Coach yelled out, as bad as the circumstances were, Lulu still let out a small chuckle at Coach's humor, "Can you move faster than the lifeless corpse of my dead grandmother, McCall?"
"Yes, Coach!"
"Then do it again!" The whistle and Scott shoots forward again as Coachtosses the ball to him. Stiles steps away from the rest of the team at the same time as Lulu stands up from her sitting position on the bench, noticing the change in Scott. His speed, the extraordinary agility with which he moves. An oblivious Jackson goes for a cross-check, heading for Scott with his stick horizontal even as the smaller boy hurtles toward him with ferocious speed. They collide like two goats locking horns as they both go down, Jackson hollering as he hits the ground. The sickening sound of bone dislodging from the socket sends a cringe through Lulu, her heightened hearing multiplying the sound. While everyone else runs over to check on Jackson, Stiles and her hurry to Scott's side.
"Are you okay?" Stiles asks, but Scott won't lift his head, he won't reveal his face to Stiles underneath the helmet, "Scott?" He tilts his head up to reveal the sharpened teeth jutting out from his lower jaw.
"It's happening. I can't control it," Scott kept muttering, "It's happening." Grabbing him by the shoulder pads, Stiles pulls him up.
"What now?" Lulu exclaims, "Can't you control it?"
"Come on. Before anyone sees," Stiles tries to pull him up, "Come, on, come on!" As Stiles drags him off the field and toward the lockers, neither of the boys notice Derek watching from the sidelines. Lulu spots him and has to take a double-take to prove that her eyes weren't deceiving her. The two in control werewolves make eye contact and flashes their eyes discretely in a form of greeting, the two of them were in a 'becoming friends stage' but Derek also had an instinct to protect her and vice versa. Hearing a yell from the lockers, Lulu breaks the contact and sprints towards the locker room.
"Get away from me," Scott's voice comes out with a frighteningly demonic rasp, head snapping around as if to rip out the other boy's throat. Lulu grabs Stiles' arm to have him retreat, almost stumbling over his own feet at the sight of Scott's eyes. The sounds coming from him are painful, animalistic, and frighteningly aggressive.
