"It's the worst kinda feeling when
you know deep down inside you've given up."

━━━━━━━━━━━━

Hours of waiting for her mind to finally drift off to sleep, she prayed, to any God that was listening, to not give her a nightmare. Although she knew it was going to happen, either way, Lulu was terrified. Terrified to face the appalling and atrocious dreams that her subconscious thought of. It only made her think about whether or not it was just a side of her nobody had seen yet.

After hours of staring up at the ceiling, counting the patterns, her eyelids grew heavy and fluttered closed. As if she had only slept a second, her eyes shot open, only to see the dark sky with barely any stars shining. Forest trees standing tall surrounded her, as the eerie silence shook her to the core. She was back in the forest, right back to where that beast chased her.

Lulu sat up and glanced around to see herself in the same spot as before, she could only just wait for the beast to come after her. Instead of lying around and playing the waiting game, she jumped up to her feet and started to walk further into the woods. As much as she wanted to, she couldn't control the direction she was walking in, it was as if she was being pulled or pushed along by a rope tied around her waist.

She stumbled upon the same tree stump that she hit her head on last time. She found it odd that it was bigger than the rest of the trees she had seen. Instantaneously after finding the stump, she heard a low growl echo throughout the forest. Her legs shook, knees ready to give way, her hands began to shake and twitch whilst her whole body froze on the spot. Her head whipped around to spot the red eyes, however, she couldn't find any. No matter how hard she looked, it just wasn't in sight. Even though she couldn't see it, she could feel it.

The saying, 'Speak of the Devil and he shall appear,' entered her thoughts as soon as she saw the red glow in her peripheral vision. This time, she stayed still, chanting the same phrase over and over in her mind: 'It's not real, it's not real'. Oh, how she wishes she could wake up now. The red-eyed beast crept forward, staying in the shadows, circling around her. A shrieking sound pierced her ears, the noise snapped the beast out of its state and lunged at her. It got closer and closer, her breathing becoming louder and louder as she was having trouble filling her lungs with air. Its teeth were inches away from her neck.

Lulu shot up gasping for air, eyes wide open. She was back in her room, thanking her lucky stars for getting her out of there before it got to it. Somehow, in the night she ended on the floor, face down while her duvet remained on her bed as if she was never under it in the first place.

Stiles slams his Jeep door shut, slinging his school bag over his shoulder, "And then what? You killed her?" Scott and Lulu were following behind him from his Jeep toward the school.

"I don't know. I woke up. I was sweating like crazy and I couldn't breathe," Scott explained, "I've never had a dream where I woke up like that."

"I have. But it usually ends a little differently," Stiles admits

"That's disgusting, Stiles," Lulu commented, already having enough of her brother and friend's mindset.

"I agree," Scott agreed with Lulu as well as giving his own reasons, "A: I meant I've never had a dream that felt that real. And B: never give me that much detail about you in bed ever again."

"Noted," Stiles began, "But I'm going to take a guess here-"

"I know. You think it has something to do with me going out with Allison tomorrow," Scott already knew what his friends were thinking, "Like I'm afraid I'm going to lose control and rip her throat out."
