Chen Yunru woke up in the hospital bed, only to find Mo Junjie sitting next to her, nearly drifting off to sleep. Hearing the rustle, Mo Junjie opened his eyes wide open.
"Ni zen me yang?" he asked urgently. How are you feeling? Yunru thought, why am I here. Such words she must've uttered aloud, because shortly after Mo Junjie replied.
"Do you remember the night me and Li Ziwei celebrated your birthday? You were in a car crash," Mo Junjie explained in his slow manner, "Excuse me, I'm going to quickly call Li Ziwei."
When he dialed the number quite annoyedly, the buttons on the phone beeped. There was a grunt at the other end. None other than Li Ziwei picked up from a park near their town in Tainan.
The patient tone of Mo Junjie quickly morphed into nagging, "Hey Li Ziwei, skipping class again, are you? Are you really going to stay back and miss high school graduation? The dean will catch up with you soon enough at this rate."
Lying on the grass in deep ponderance, Li Ziwei brushed off all his best friend's remarks, and said, "It's just- these days I'm not sure why, but it seems as if someone really important to me disappeared. There's this gap in one spot of my heart. My mood's foul is all."
Mo Junjie and Chen Yunru stood at the school balcony, their secret meeting place. While listening to a song called Last Dance by Wubai, Chen Yunru confessed her thoughts of suicide prior to her car accident.
"To be honest, before I thought if I were to disappear from the world, not a single person would notice, nor care. But in my dream there was another version of me, who advised, ' The reason why you attempted to take your life, was not because you are disappointed by the world, but you have too many expectations on your surroundings. Of course, you know more than anyone, others may not reciprocate kindness. You should nonetheless treasure those who grab you by the hand in your lowest moments.' I think, now, I realize the world isn't as cruel as I initially believed," Chen Yunru said and smiled at Mo Junjie, who smiled in return. She does not need saving anymore.
Meanwhile, Li Ziwei bought two white sugar cakes from the street, yet just as he leaned in to swallow a bite, he sensed a pair of eyes on the dessert. It was a little girl, around six years old. Since she was so fixated on the cakes, Li Ziwei shared one of them.
Upon realizing the fact she lost her grandmother, Li Ziwei helped search for her guardian and simultaneously purchased delicious food, playing games along the way. On his motorcycle, the little girl inquired all sorts of questions to him.
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
"Nope."
"Do you have anyone you like?"
"No."
"Na ni hui xi huan wo ma? (Would you fall in love with me)"
"Of course not, ni ji sui la? (How old are you) You kids shouldn't ask these sorts of questions!"
"Why not? Then, when I grow up would you like me?"
"Maybe."
"Then don't forget me! My name is Huang Yuxuan. "
"I won't."
"Really?"
"I'm Li Ziwei. I won't, I swear."
