I felt a warm salty tear drip down my face as I remembered how close we had been and how quickly I lost you. I loved you but it felt like you didn't love me. I know that you loved Gemma too but why did you let me go? I was there for you, I didn't make your problems go away by making you do crazy things, I actually helped you, talked to you, made you find an honest solution to whatever was bothering you. After all those years we spent building up trust, you managed to destroy it in one single night.

I remember it so well, you had gone out with Gemma and your mates and I knew you would be drinking. You barged through the door in the early hours of the morning absolutely off your head due to the amount of alcohol and goodness knows what else in your system. I heard you go into your room an I heard Gemma's voice. You were opening cupboard doors and slamming drawers shut. I just assumed you were getting some things and staying at Gemma's, as you had been doing a lot recently.

You staggered down the stairs and I heard the front door slam. That was it, you were gone and I would never see you again. I just didn't know it yet.
