A Turn Of Events

It is now my second day of high school. It's not that big of a deal but I'm sure Tessa would be happy for me. Especially that my first day went well.

I quickly took a shower and got ready. For today I just wore a pair of high-waisted jeans, a beetles t-shirt tucked into the pants, and a pair of regular old sneakers. I left my hair down for today.

I still had twenty minutes left so I decided to check out Tessa's YouTube.

I typed in Tessa Hops and saw that she didn't just have a few videos. She had hundreds.

I clicked on the most recent one. Just days before she ended her life.

She started off very cheerful. Her video was a 'Get Ready With Me'. She started speaking about how she has been and about anything exciting, like how she recently got a puppy named Charles.

Near the end of the video she got a notification on her phone and her face went from a bright smile to a frown. Then she said goodbye and tried to put a smile back on. But what nobody knew was that this was going to be her last goodbye.

I looked at the time and it was five minutes past when I was supposed to leave.

"Shit" I mumbled and quickly assembled everything together and left.

I got to school just on time to not be counted late and I sat with Lilah and had a long conversation about what touring was like.

Time flew by until biology. We got assigned partners for a unit project. I was hoping to get Lilah but instead I got Theo. When Mrs. Gala called out our names together, I noticed that I got scowls from a few of the girls in my class. He was definitely the most liked person in school.

"Hey, I'm Theo" He said as he sat down next to me. His voice was deep but not to deep.

"I'm Cai" I smiled shyly. His hair is black and cut short, he's at least six feet tall, and you can tell he works out and does sports. He also has piercing green eyes.

"Wanna work on the project at your house after school" He asked.

"Uhh could we actually work on it at yours?" I realized that him going to my...exceedingly large home might raise some questions.

"Sure, it's a bit chaotic there though. You were warned." He shrugged and started working on the packet our teacher handed us.

I laughed. "What's your number?" He looked at me then tore of a piece of paper from the packet.

"Here. Text me and I'll text you the address back after school" He handed me the slip of paper as the bell ringed.

I waited for Lilah at the door and when she appeared she had a look of shock.

"You just got paired with Theo. The guy everyone loves." She laughed. "That's crazy".

"I know. Especially after you told me to avoid him. " I laughed. "I got his number thoughhhh" I sung as we headed to our last class which were beside each other.

"Text me how it goes" Lilah said as we walked into our separate classroom.

After class I got my phone out.

Me: Hey, It's Cai.

Theo: Cool, here's my addy.

Theo: 37 Gone Hill dr.

Me: Okay, be there in 45?

Theo: Bet.

I got in my car and started heading that way.
