My clothes finished drying as I changed into them. I slipped my heels on as Alastor asked if I was ready.
"I'm ready."
"Alright darling. Let's go."
With that said, Alastor put his key in the ignition as the engine roared to life. Throughout the car ride, Alastor and I talked along with singing to some tunes that came on. Alastor asked if tomorrow I would be free.
"Yes I will be. Why?" I asked with a smirk on my face.
"If you are comfortable and willing to, would you like to come with me to my studio?"
My face lit up as I said yes. Alastor chuckled as he asked what time would be best to pick me up. We agreed that 7:00 AM would be the best time.
We reached my small apartment complex as Alastor walked me up to my floor. I unlocked my door as my friend jumped on me.
"(Y/N)! I hope you didn't mind that I let myself in. I thought to pay you a visit but you weren't home so I decided to wait."
She stopped mid-sentence as she glanced at Alastor.
< friend's name = (F/N) >
"Oh um (F/N), this is my friend Alastor. Al this is my friend (F/N), that I told you about."
"Why hello there (F/N)! Nice to meet you!"
Al and (F/N) shook hands as (F/N) walked back inside. I turned around to tell Alastor bye but he had a smirk on his face.
"What?"
"So I'm Al now hm? I like it." Alastor said with his smirk becoming more devious.
I rolled my eyes and smiled as I said, "Goodbye Al. I will see you tomorrow at 7 correct?"
"Correct. Goodbye dear."
I waved Alastor off as I closed my door. I leaned my back against the door as I sighed. Remembering last night made me smile like an idiot. It was one of the best nights of my life. I haven't met someone like Alastor in a very long time.
"He's cute (Y/N). Are y'all really 'just friends' or no?" (F/N) asked while sitting on my couch. She didn't bother to look up at me as she has a coffee mug in one hand while the other was holding the newspaper out.
"We are just friends. Very close friends for people who just met though."
"How did y'all meet?"
"I met him at a bar yesterday night after my show. He helped me out of a situation involving a creepy man."
"I bet money that y'all aren't going to be close friends long. I can tell by the way you two look at each other. Ah love at first sight they say."
"Pff yeah right," I said as I slipped off my heels. "I believe I learned my lesson last time I was in a relationship."
"Just because your ex boyfriend was bad doesn't mean your friend Alastor will be. He seems kind and happy. You two would look cute together."
I smiled and shook my head as I relaxed on the couch next to (F/N). I grabbed a book as I started reading. Most people would be surprised that a person of my color would have this much education and knowledge. However, I wouldn't have the knowledge if my friend's (F/N)'s parents didn't help me out. They took me in when I was younger.
I used to live in an orphanage but in secret. One of the maids there kept me in her room. It was a few years until the head master found out. She kicked me out of the orphanage while I roamed the streets by myself. I would sit outside school windows that were left open and listen. I learned a bit from doing that until the teachers found out and had all their windows closed. Little did I know (F/N) went to that school. I bumped into her on accident as she was running out of the entrance to the school. She helped me up and we talked. She liked the color of my skin and thought it was pretty since she's white. Her parents came to pick her up and they noticed me. They asked if I had any parents or home. I denied having both as they took me in. I learned how to cook, clean, read, write, and speak properly because of them. While other people didn't approve of me, they loved me like their own. I will forever be grateful for them.
I was looking through my closet for decent clothes I could wear tomorrow. I wanted to look nice since Alastor was going to be kind enough to show me his studio. Alastor makes my heart throb for some reason. 'Do I like him? Nonsense I just met him.'
|Alastor's pov|
I was at the store buying some groceries like usual. I looked at the corner of my eye to see that same detective from earlier this morning. I pretended that I didn't notice him as I continued buying what I needed. I thought maybe I should buy you a gift. 'What if I come off as weird doing that. You might think I like you. Do I like you? I mean you are very beautiful and have an amazing voice and personality. Although, I just met you. I will have to wait and see if my feelings grow.'
I realized I have been looking at a necklace for too long as I decided to buy it. I hoped you would like it as I walked back to my car. Once again, I saw that same annoying detective but more people emerged around them as they all looked sketchy. They all seemed to be talking about something as the detective had a piece of paper in his hand. I was curious at what the paper said but decided I have been siting in my car long enough. I drove off before I was thought as suspicious to them.
I arrived home as I a malicious grin formed on my face. I found it interesting this detective was hiding something. I wanted to know what it was. However, I would have to wait because I have other priorities. I needed to find something to wrap your present in.
