26. "you havent failed me.." 🌍

Your POV

"We should all stick together as a class for this first round!" Deku suggested, his unkempt hair swaying as he moved,
"Pfft. good luck losers" Katsuki scoffed before waking in the opposite direction to the class, Kaminari and Kirishima following him like lost puppies. I sighed at his stubbornness before turning back to the class,
"I agree with Bakugo, my attacks don't work in large groups" Todoroki called, before vaulting a large rock and also going off on his own.
"Oh, well at least we have most of the class!" The forest eyed boy, always seeing the positive side, smiled brightly.

Before we could even start to formulate a plan, students from all other schools started to slowly surround us, we hadn't noticed them until we were blocked by all angles. I didn't hear what was said, but Yo Shindo and Deku said something to eachother, before the tall ravenette jumped to the floor, laying his palms on the ground and shouting at the top of his lungs:
"TREMORING EARTH!"

The floor below us started to rumble, cracking spontaneously, before full out shattering, separating the whole class, chucking us all over the arena.

I landed harshly, piled beneath a load of debris, a piercing pain coming from my lower stomach. I looked down to see a large chunk of ground lodged between two others, resting precariously on my stomach, making it hard for me to even breath, I let out a pained scream before trying to manuver may way under them, only causing myself more pain.

It was only then that I had realised I wasn't even near the mountain zone anymore, and was now near a large bridge structure, and climbing the ladder to the top was non other then the explosion boy himself, shouting and the two figures that followed him closely. I tried to grab their attention, only to let a feeble cry leave my lips, I was completely immobilised. I couldn't even feel my wings. Surely this couldn't be the way I fail this exam, no, I needed to make my parents proud, I needed to show everyone that I'm strong.

I shut my eyes tight and focused hard, feeling my wings twitch against my back as they slowly started to enlarge, pushing the rubble around underneath me, making it easier for me to move. Once my wings were fully extended I gripped my claws into the edge of some stone, earning a ghastly scraping noise that hurt my eardrums, but I delt with it, pushing with all my might as the rocks around me fell to the floor, leaving my small body hoisted up by my wings, my knee clearly damaged and my stomach exposed and bleeding.

I hadn't noticed however, that my struggling had gained the attention of a few shikestsu second years, who were now getting closer to me, a determined look on their faces.

I just knew they were going to take advantage of my injured state, and I began to panic believing my exam time today had finally come to an end. I closed my eyes and apologised to my father, surrendering to failure.

That was until I heard the familiar hiss of a beacon of hope.

I opened one of my violet eyes, then focusing on a female figure infront of me, her white tail swaying in frustration as she was about 7 foot in the air, using the retractable spikes on her heals as stilts, dodging someone's attack.

"Asuka!" I had finally found the strength to fight back, joining my friend in the sky, my wings flapping slowly.
"Wasn't gonna let you fail that easy tweety" she flashed me a toothy grin before we both bolted down to the floor, taking out multiple students as we did so, enough for us both to pass with ease.

Damn I hope Bakugo saw.

Katsuki's POV

A smirk stretched across my face, a sense of pride filling me up from the inside, along with a feeling of irritation.
"Damn feathers finnished before me" I let out a slight chuckle, Kirishima picking this up and elbowing me in my side,
"Did you see the way she hit those guys with her wings! Dude she's so manly, wait, BAKUGO!" He threw himself into me quickly, knocking me to the floor,
"Hey shitty hair what the-" I choked on my words as my red haired friend got taken into the air, moulded into a sort of meatball before being tossed half arsedly at the ground.

"You know, us at Shiketsu keep our hats on when doing hero work, showing were we came from and how it effects us" A slender male spoke, the collar of his jacket hiding his face from the nose down, as he pinched the brim of his stupid hat.

I already had, had enough of this guy, so I used my newly formulated move and shot concentrated blasts at the male, making sure not to hurt those around me, even if they were incompetent idiots.

I deflected his attack only to feel someone warm and gooey envelop my back,
"You were careless and hadn't noticed that i'd sent a piece of flesh underneath us, and now your going to pay for you arrogance.." My body felt mushed, my head and shouldered now fully numb, I called out to dunce face before throwing his a small grenade filled with my sweat, hoping he could get me out of this mess so I could kill that bastard.

Kaminari finally used the grenade, knocking our opponent into the field where he could use his electricity. While the Shiletsu student was getting fried, I started to regain feeling, and not wanting to be in this state for any longer I tensed my whole body hard, feeling everything slide into its original shape, and before long I was myself again, sending a large scale explosion into the purple haired guy.

That's when the other flesh balls started to wake up, the three of us easily took advantage as we tapped enough people to pass us the exam.

Upon arriving at the Anteroom, I wasn't surprised to see Deku heading there aswell. I knew this would happen, but this meant one thing, he was ready to fight me.
"You passed the exam too Deku?" The boy flinched cowardly,
"Shouldn't be surprised with that new quirk of yours," I huffed, barging past him,
"Seems you've made that quirk your own" hoping he'd clock onto what I meant, I headed inside of the building, the first thing my eyes locking onto was a small female figure, covering herself in those perfect black feathered wings, I was so proud the she passed, only she seemed less then happy now.

I approached her and sat in the chair beside her, resting a hand on her shoulder,
"Hey it's me.." I said softly, after feeling her flinch under my touch. Suddenly she unwrapped herself, throwing herself into my side and holding onto me tightly, sobbing. Confused what to do in this situation I starting tracing slow circles into the side of her thigh, as she curled her whole body into me.
"Hey what's up feathers.."
"I failed.. they said because of my injuries and willingness to give up I can't participate in the next round, meaning i've failed, i've failed everyone Katsu, I'm useless." Her sobs grew stronger, and realising that nothing I said could make her feel better, I whispered quietly,
"You haven't failed me.."

A/n- So we failed exam :(( But we've failed for a good reason, that will be apparent in the next couple of chapters.
