DESTINED TO REMEET

CHAPTER-13

Aunt Cathy opened the door. One look at me and she switch on to her motherly heart.
"O God, Rachel baby you are looking worse." She helped me walk inside the house and made me sit on sofa.

Yes Aunty I am in real bad pain.

"Wait I will get you painkiller and warm water to dip your foot in." She left worried.

I closed my eyes and put my head on the back of sofa.

"Rachel wake up sweety take your medicine them sleep." 

I sit up and put my foot in warm water and took my medicine.

"Rachel tomorrow what time is the appointment fixed with Angelo?" Aunty asked.

"Twelve Aunty, and honestly I will manage alone." I knew what she wanted to say.

"It's late you go back to sleep I am too tired to go upstairs if you could give me my blanket and my night gown, I will sleep here.

"Ya sure baby, I will just get it for you" and she left to arrange things. After few minutes she got my stuff I changed and lie down on sofa. Aunty kissed me good bye, put out the lights and left for her room.
Lying on sofa tired and waiting for my sleep my mind wander on today's events. The trip was an ordeal today.

I wondered I am not his type but still he showed interest in me. He keeps goading me always when ever we meet. He was skeptical whenever we have met. His mockery, His Kiss and His last words "Some connection Rachel" had risen mixed feeling in me of fear and hope. My eyelids started closing and I went into a sweet slumber.

"Morning Rachel get up baby it's 11 you have an appointment at 12 " Aunty's voice.

I opened my eyes and sit up.
"Morning Aunty yes I will get ready in few minutes."

"Rachel I have taken off and I am going with you. Period." Looking determined Aunt said.

"Ok" I replied. She helped me get ready. The foot was getting worse.

With too much difficulties I got ready.
By 12.10 We both reached Angelo's clinic.

It was my turn only. I was excited to meet him. I walked in on my own. He was sitting on his chair writting something. I went and sat on patients chair.

He looked up and said "Good morning How can I help?"

"Good Morning doctor." I wished him pointing towards  my swollen foot.

He picked up my foot in his hands and examined it.

After examining for few minutes he said ,"This needed to be x-rayed first. I am putting it on my prescription you show this slip to the receptionist outside, she will arrange for you to be taken to the X-ray lab." I nodded.
"Your name please?" His pen in his hand.
I answered, "Rachel Holling, from Saint Xavier school, grade IX. Sharon Hicks best friend. Sharon, being Ex crush of Doctor Angelo, I may get some concession please."

He has moved back on his chair in relax position smiling and now his full attention on me. When I completed my intro he stood up clapping.
"Rachel Holling" screamed loudly. "Honestly I was thinking that your face looked familiar. You have changed a lot long hair, put on weight on right parts of anatomy." He teased and hugged me.

Then at down on his chair,"Rachel you look ravishing girl". Then pointing to my foot he asked "What have you done to your foot and where are you now a days?"

"Angelo I'll tell you everything man but first help me with my foot I banged my foot on a rock.It's more than 10 days now and I am in severe pain."

"You are alone?"

"No Aunt Cathy is with me she is sitting outside. She gave your contact to me."

"All right I have met her few times last year at Richardson's house. I am their family doctor" he cleared.

"Oh no" I gasped aloud.

"What happened you know them surly. Giri Richardson and Nancy his sister both are from St. Xavier. Have you forgotten."

"Mm.. I think Maybe." Avoiding answering him I screamed slightly.

"Angelo we can talk later please help me, the pain is unbearable."

He pressed a bell on his table. A boy came in.

Angelo instructed the boy, "Jimmy get me a wheelchair real fast take this lady to the x-ray department have her x-ray done on priority and bring her back to me."

He went out to meet Aunty.

I was super dead. Angelo is Giri's family doctor. Oh man he was referring to Angelo, it means, last night. "God save me it's becoming realy dangerous."
The boy came in with the wheelchair I sat on it and he took me out. Angelo was talking to aunty. He again instructed the boy and then treatment started it took us two hours in the hospital.
At last all done, Angelo prescribed medicine and ointment and gave me a painkiller Injection. Told me that he will be in touch with me after two days and will take me out or else will come at Aunt's house to spend time.

When I came home I had a crepe bandage on my foot and I have been instructed not to put my foot on floor for couple of days. I was forbidden to walk only permission for nature's call.

Aunty cleaned a room on ground floor for me I went in and slept like a log.

I woke up in the late evening. After getting freshen up I went out in the living area. Aunty was watching TV, on seeing me she got up to help me to reach sofa.
"How are you feeling?
"Better"
"Good, I have food ready for you can I get it for you"
"Yes aunty, I am starving and I really need that I am feeling very low."
"You must be honey pain and yesterday's cruise all together must have been hectic for you." She stood up to get my food.

There was a big bouquet of orchids on the table. I asked where this came from sh said
"Oh my darling, I forgot to tell you this has come for you. Check yourself who sent it.
She stood up and picking the card from the bouquet gave it to me "GET WELL SOON -G.R."

He has called twice I think you better call him back. He was really concerned about your foot. I told him that you are resting and we had showed it to doctor."

"Did he asked which doctor I went to?"

"No darling, why would he ask that?" She asked with puzzled look.

"Ok, all right, yes, I will give him a call" I dared not look at her.

"I messaged you his number and for now eat your medicine and rest."

After taking medicine I went back to the room and slept again peacefully at night.
Morning I woke up with my phone bell it was mom" Hi Mum yes I will be coming on 28th as decided."  Dad also spoke and inquired about my foot. I had already warned aunty not to mention the severity of my pain. She also agreed with me. Kap told me that mum's two Canvas sold and she is giving a treat on 29th when I'll be back. Talking and teasing we disconnected.

I miss them a lot. It is the the first time I took a big break away from my family. As soon as I disconnect the phone rang again. It was Nancy.

"Hello Nancy, How are you. Sorry I could not call you yesterday I was so tired and was sleeping maximum time of the day."
"Hi Rachel, you don't have to explain sweety. Yes of course it was really tiring even I was so tired and, honestly I'm still in bed. How is your foot have you went to doctor or not."

"Yes, Nancy I went there yesterday it's all done. Have it x-rayed and took injection for pain. No moment for next two days."

"Yes you should take rest. Giri also inquired about your foot. I'll also tell him now he must be reaching home in few minutes."

"Thank you so much you both are so kind and helpful, I can't tell you I am really greatful to have you guys as my friends on this short trip of mine."

"Oh come on don't get all emotional and make me cry. Remember our deal. Whenever you feel up to it please inform me I will arrange everything."

"Yes of course, I remember and looking forward to it. Let this get healed for good as I have to start my job also on 1st of next month."

"Ok sweetheart I'll say bye to you now as I have to go for workout."

"Bye Nancy take care."
