"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together... there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart... I'll always be with you."
– Winnie the PoohSchool has finished and I'm on my way with Emma to my house to get ready. We are both quiet trying to think about todays occurrences...Grayson is cheating on me and not just with anyone but with my supposedly best friend. They act like nothings happening, they deny as if everything is normal, Grayson didn't even notice I didn't kiss him back at lunch..it hurt pretending to be clueless despite the growing anger, despite my sadness. I know that Emma is worried for me and about what may happen tonight, I haven't exactly told her what I've been thinking and planning for tonight.
When we get to my house we realize my parents are home, honestly I need some advice...and I know where to get it from.
"E you can go up to my room..I need to talk to my dad." I inform her while giving her a small smile, she realizes what I want and gives me a hug and heads up.
I go into the kitchen where the pans are slicing together and I see the person I needed most. My daddy.
"Hi daddy, I'm home." I say to him unable to contain the sadness in my voice.
My dad realizes my sadness and tenses...he hates hearing me sad. He turns around and sees me, trying to inspect if I'm hurt in any physical way but the source of my hurt is an intangible pressure forming in my heart. From the grate betrayal I'm feeling.
"What happened mi niña? *my girl*" dad asks me worriedly but I just go up to him and hug him, feeling safe in his arms.
"He cheated!" I yell my tears flowing showing no sign of them stopping, my dad sighs and rubs my back to soothe me.
"Oh baby girl, don't cry. He doesn't deserve you flowing your precious tears over him." Daddy tells me trying to comfort me.
"But daddy, it isn't just that! Isabella is the girl he is with!" I sob harder as my dad tenses up and grabs my face gently. I notice his eyes are wide from shock.
"Oh my baby girl, I'm so sorry..I can't imagine how you must be feeling but now you know that girl can't be trusted. What do you plan on doing?" My dad asked me quietly, still rubbing patterns in attempt to soothe me. Once I'm calm enough I say
"There's a party tonight...Emma and I told them we weren't going to go. Perfect for them to be alone...so, we will arrive late as a last minute thing and be totally clueless...and when we find them I will show them that you don't mess with an Arango." I tell him fiercely, my latina roots imprinting in my accent from my anger.
"Baby girl, if that's what you want to do, I'm going to support you okay? No one messes with my little girl, no... my little woman and I'll talk to your mum so she lets you go. No one messes with an Arango and gets away with it." Dad tells me, showing pride in his eyes.
