MALACHI GALLAGHER was twelve years old when he was forced to grow up, and face the reality of the world. Like any normal person, that took a huge toll on the young boy. He lost his parents in the cruelty of the world, and then he lost his best friend (who he and his family took in after he lost his parents).

He was never the same after that. He was unstable, and full of anger towards the world. The only person he had left in this world was his sister, and he swore to protect her, despite being the youngest of the two. His word led to him being impulsive, and making reckless decisions. He put himself in danger for the smallest things, and his untreated ADHD didn't make it any better.

There was no hope for the boy if he continued to go down that road. So, when Daryl Dixon and Glenn Rhee take in the Gallagher siblings, things start to change for the woman, but the boy couldn't comprehend what was going on. He was convinced that she was stuck in an unrealistic fantasy, and that he was the only sane person in the prison.

They said he worried too much, but could you blame him? Malachi lost almost everyone, and he refused to believe that they were truly safe. He was cautious, and would never let his guard down.

Carl Grimes was the closest thing Malachi had to a friend. He'd make sure that Kai wasn't accidentally starving himself, and making sure that he wasn't going to chase little kids around with a knife. He was there for the boy, even if it was just to sit in silence together.

And just like that, Malachi had two people keeping himself from doing something stupid. Two people to protect, two people he'd give his life for. Two people he loved.

IN WHICH, a teenage boy with nothing but his sister is an impulsive, reckless disaster, and the only person who truly had to capability to control him was Carl Grimes.

ethan cutkosky literally deserves the world, and i cant picture anyone else portraying malachi. his sexuality will never properly be stated because i want my readers to interpret his sexuality as whatever they see him as. soft gay, then cool! chaotic bi, hell yes. it's up to you!
