"Harmony, how was school dear?"
I heard my mother ask when I walked in from that day. "It was wonderful," I told her.
Esma smiled. "Did you make any new friends?"
I nodded. "I made lots of them. James's father works with dad at the firm."
My mother smirked. "I'm sure your father will be pleased."
I shrugged my shoulders. "Daddy is always pleased with me, mom. You know that."
Pleasing my father was never a hard thing to do. I was his little pride and joy. The one thing he'd kill anything over.

School the following morning was a blur. I got up with Natalie for fifth period English and headed into class. We were the first two in there and we took our seats directly in front of him.
I looked up and saw Mr. Wood hovering over some paperwork. He looked determined. It was almost even cute.
I froze at when I thought that and shook my head. No way, I told myself mentally. Harmony he's your teacher and he will be nothing else.
Mr. Woods look up at me then and locked my eyes with his. This was the first time I had actually really gotten a good look at my teacher. His short dark brown hair was ruffled everywhere like he'd just woken up. Those blue-gold eyes stared intently at me as he ignored whoever had entered his classroom.
He looked so serious then the last time I had seen him. He was so full of laughter then.
He didn't look like he was about to rip off the first head he seen.
Getting up from my seat, I fixed my baby pink blouse and headed up to his desk. "You look determined, Mr. Woods," I told him with a smile.
That's when I seen a small smile tug at the corner of his lips. "How so?"
I smirked, ignoring his question and proceeded back to my seat where he slowly got up and started with class.
"Okay class," he began. "The next couple of days we will be reading and reviewing Romeo and Juliet. A classic tradedy where two young souls fight to be together."
I smiled big. I loved Romeo and Juliet. It was my utmost favorite book and movie. It was deep and it explained how Romeo and Juilet meet and fall in love. They can't be together where their families are enemies and are always at war with one another. The #1 classic tradedy of all time.
Mr. Woods passed out our books and guides before proceeding back to his desk. "Starting right now I want you all to open up those books and read. I want chapters 1-10 done tonight and a written statement on what you read and how it affected you in some way."
We all nodded and opened up our books. The whole time I was reading I kept glancing at the clock. I was awfully hungry and wanted some lunch.
"Miss. Stillwell, I'd like to see you after class," Mr. Woods said with a slight smile.
I nodded. "Sounds fine."
The bell rang about fifteen minutes later and I stayed behind in my seat while the others walked on out. When we were finally alone, Mr. Woods got up from his desk and started over towards me. He had ended up taking Natalie's chair and turned in my direction.
"You are gonna be working differently then the rest of the class," Mr. Woods started. "Instead of doing what I told you in class I want you to read the whole book. Take your time because it isn't due until two weeks. Once your finished I want you to give me a ten page book report on it."
I nodded as it sounded easy. "I'm a master at book reports. Don't be surprised if you have it on your desk earlier then expected."
He laughed and took my book switching it with a much thicker version. "You will not be using the updated version, but the original."
My mouth fell open in shock. "Whatever I did I didn't do it," I swore.
Mr. Woods started laughing so hard he about fell out of chair. "I just want to challenge you."
I wish he'd just shut up and tell me what this little thing was all about. I knew this little meeting wasn't over Romeo and Juilet. I could see it as he stared at me nervously.
Noticing him having a piece of fuzz stuck in his hair, I bravely lifted my hand to remove it.
"Harmony," he whispered. "We can't do this..."
I softly smiled. "Do what? You had fuzz in your hair. Plus I know you have someone."
"Call me Chris when we're alone," he said leaning in to kiss me.
The feel of his lips beneath mine made me smile. I absolutely loved the feeling.
"Aren't you afraid we're gonna get caught, Chris?" I chuckled.
He grinned and pulled back. "Your worth it."
Giggling, I grabbed him and starting kissing him again not helping myself. It felt so wrong yet it was all I wanted.
Chris didn't seem my sudden urge to kiss him back because he himself deepened the kiss.
I was falling head over hills for my teacher and I don't know whether that was a good thing or not. Gosh I feel like such a homewrecker right now.
When Chris pulled away from the kiss and gave me a regretful look, I got up and bolted from the classroom. I could hear him yelling my name for me to stop, but I didn't budge. I kept running until I ran into the last person I ever thought I'd see at this moment.
James.
He looked at me all worriedly. "Harmony, what's wrong?"
It was like I couldn't breathe I was now crying so hard. James didn't care though, he just held me the whole time whispering everything was going to be okay.
All I wanted was to be held right now. I needed a friend and James could be that for me.
"Are you okay?" He whispered holding me close not wanting to let go.
I swallowed. "I will be."
James slowly smiled. "Few of us were going to the beach tonight for a bonfire. Do you wanna come?"
I nodded. "I'd love to."
"I'll pick you up at eight then." James helped me up on my feet and kissed me on forehead before walking away.
I turned to go my next class and saw Chris standing in the doorway of his classroom. He was glaring past me in the direction James went.
Oh shit, I thought. What the hell did I get myself into?
