*Leons POV*
The light shining through my window is what woke me up. I open my eyes and see my sunlight lit room and take in the aesthetic. I sit up and look to my clock to see its around 9AM. I lay back down for a few more minutes until I find the energy to get up for the day. I go downstairs into the kitchen to find my bowl of watermelon i but up the night before. I love watermelon. Its my most favorite fruit in the world.
After finishing my breakfast I head back upstairs to get ready for my run. Its Saturday, and every saturday I go for a run. In November, the trees begin to change color. The air is always crisp but the sun still shines bright.
I change into a pair of biker shorts and a loose grey hoodie. I take a look in my mirror and decide to put my waist length curly hair into a messy bun for the time being. Im not there to impress anyone.
I leave a note on my aunts door explaining where I have gone. My aunt means the world to me. Shes the only one who I have left.
I step outside and the cold air hits me. I shiver a little but the sun seems to make up for harsh air. I begin a jog down the street. I stare up at the big trees and the blend of green, orange and yellow leaves. A smile begins to form at the edges of my mouth as I take a deep breath of the fresh air. I love nature. Always have, always will.
I reach the park at the end of my neighborhood. I look around before I enter the hidden trail that's covered by a huge bush. I always go to this trail because it leads to a beautiful waterfall. I begin walking the the trail, taking my time and enjoying the birds chirping and the leaves crunching under my feet. The trees are as tall as a 9 story building. Sometimes I'll go up to a tree and lean my body against it and look straight up. It's amazing to see how tall these trees can grow to be.
After about half an hour i finally reach the water fall. I smile at the beauty it holds. The giant waves it creates at the bottom. The powerful noises it makes. I sit on a rock feeling a little mist hit my legs. I take off the back pack I had taken with me and pull out my drawing book and a pencil. I begin sketching the scene in front of me.
Before I could start to draw I feel like a see something move with lightning speed at the corner of my eye. My head whips fast to that direction and see nothing. I stare for a moment until i finally came to the conclusion that it was nothing. After 10 minutes or so, I see it again. This time, I stand up quickly but careful not to get too close to the edge. I look around and decides that it was not my imagination this time because at that exact moment I hear someone or Something take a step. The waterfall is loud, so for me to hear it they have to be close. Not turning my back, I put my drawing book into my back pack and zip it up slowly.
I wait 10 minutes for any sign of movement and see nothing. I make my decision to leave. I begin to feel watched. I pick up my pace moving faster. While checking behind me every five seconds, my foot gets caught on a tree root sticking out of the ground. I fall to the ground roughly. I notice the pain coming from my ankle and wince in pain. I look down and see that its starting to become swollen. I am not longer able to walk. I left my phone at home. Big mistake.
I sit there for almost half an hour until I hear the cracking of leaves. Almost as if someone is walking. I perk up and look around and see nothing, hoping someone decided to find my hidden trail today. I sigh with defeat and lay back down. Again. I hear it again.
"Who's there" I say with stern tone.
No one responds. Im alert now, preparing for the worst. I am unable to run.
All of a sudden a gigantic dog comes into view. it's staring straight at me. I look around for anything to protect myself and find nothing. Its stealthily walks closer and closer to me.
"GO AWAY. GO. GET AWAY FROM ME." I say while kicking my only good leg in hopes I scare it. It doesn't even flinch. Panic rises in me and I begin to scream for help. And then in an instant my life flashed before my eyes
I scream and use my arm to shield myself as the dog leaps at me. Pain is what I felt. It bites my arm, not hard, but hard enough to draw blood. When it realises my arm it turns to run the other way. The pain started at my arm and worked its way up slowly. Its hot. Im burning up. The pain is like torture. Its spreading faster by the minute. The pain begins to be too much, so my body gives up and blacks out.
