section II. standard starters
• it was late when he called you out of the blue . you always worried when you got late calls , always fearing the worst has happened . you picked up after a silent prayer , holding your breath .
" can you come over ? i have something to show you ."
for once the man sounded sober . you wanted to be proud of that , but knew there must've been some kind of catch . you got to steve's apartment , finding the door had a giant split in it .
entering , you see a teenager on his couch and steve intently trying to help the kid with some kind of paper . steve looked genuinely happy , not a bottle of alcohol in sight .
• you were going to ask steve a question on something , going to his bedroom door . at seeing it cracked , you entered thinking you were welcomed . but all you see is a hunched over steve , cutting lines all over his ankles .
• the two of you were star gazing , both in a comfortable silence before he spoke . "do you ever wonder how different life would be without the snap ?"
• you were able to finally get to steve , encouraging him to get help for his problems . today was the day you were going to go pick him up from the rehab centre , you hadn't seen him in months . when steve was walked out , his face lit up when he saw you . he rushed over to you and pulled you into a hug .
• the avengers were planning a birthday party for steve , unknowingly to his problem they had a bunch of alcohol there . you gave yourself the job to make sure he didn't drink , or at least too much .
