Our book for today is as you can see by the title of the chapter- The Lady Knight.

As the first Lady Knight of Monrique, Juliette Van Helsing regularly deals with criminals who threaten the peace and security of her country. When a string of brutal murders among the nobility take place in quick succession, leaving behind one puzzle after another, she begins a race against time to find the murderer.Along the way, webs of lies, betrayals and greed are unravelled, and at each turn, she finds herself questioning her beliefs and assumptions. In the midst of all of this chaos, will she be able to fulfil her duty, and mayhap, find love?

How to even describe this book as a reader? Who can be the audience of this book?

The answer to these questions are right here. It's simple that's all who love books in general. The reason?

First of all, the writing of the characters is so well-done that you can easily connect and even understand the motive behind their actions.

For example, our main protagonist the Lady Knight (as she is called formally) is as you may have guessed it, a woman.

You may except a cold-hearted woman who hides her feeling and describe her with one word extraordinary / inhuman. Let me explain.
Most of the times, we as reader want a strong – willed and in general strong female character who has the characteristics or "strength" of a male lead (unconsciously we have this stereotype- of a woman who is chased by many guys because she is extra special and many other things) Don't get me wrong, I don't contempt these characters and don't criticise them.
But, I wanted take a moment here to acknowledge the effort of the writer.

Our main female character is not cold – hearted but she is strong. She knows how to fight and more importantly when to fight. She is brave and at the same time she makes mistakes too. She is loyal to the crown that she serves and she protects what she cherishes. And she is a female too. She is emotional sometimes and has feeling too. She is not the "perfect" strong female lead but a strong human. That's what I discovered and that's the reason I fell in love with this book.

Our writer of this book can do that easily, you see.

You may also call this a feminist book (feminist as "fighting" for equal rights or in the time of the world of this story a right to be acknowledge of knighthood- the highest honor )

Our main protagonist is a prince. And unexpectedly he is not all "princely"-perfect at all things. No. He as all the characters grows from their experiences and also with the help of our Lady Knight.

The story also has a little bit of romance that you may not expect to encounter. The kind of romance that you can easily "swoon". But also love forgotten but rediscovered (I will let you guess what kind of love I am referring to)

I love when the writers create complex characters that has such depth in their personal character. Because you are drawn to them, you relate to them besides being a historical fictional book / story. Your heart feels for them!

So, not to bore you any longer with the praises I suggest you read the book and see for yourself, if I am wrong or not.

Enjoy reading.
