Dave has always been interesting to say the least. He was always so cool. So, confident. He was always one of the popular kids, and he always seemed to be holding a box of apple juice. He even wore sunglasses indoors. He was the literal defenition of cool.

It was a normal day at school, terrible, as any other. (Y/N) was walking to their first class, until they saw him. Dave Strider.
(Y/N) hated the fact that they had feelings for him of all people. So many other people did. He was popular. (Y/N) had no chance with him. Just then, in just one moment, Someone had seemed to spill their box of apple juice on (Y/N), causing (Y/N) to drop their books.

"I'm so sorry, are you okay???"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

(Y/N) was too busy picking up their books to see who it was. The other person helped (Y/N) with picking up their books. Then, their hands touched while reaching for the last book.

That was when (Y/N) looked up to see who it was. Dave Strider. The Dave Strider. (Y/N) took the last book and ran to their first class as quickly as possible. Before Dave could even speak, they were already gone. So, he just went back to what he was doing.

Dave really must have felt guilty about what had happened because he tried to talk to (Y/N) in the classes that had together before lunch.

Soon, lunch came and (Y/N) went to sit at the table with the people that they understood most, their best friends. Also known as their only friends. Sollux, Karkat, Rose, and Kanaya

Suddenly, Dave sat next to (Y/N).

"Can we talk? In private?"

He pushed up his sunglasses and looked away for a moment. It almost looked as if he was nervous, and possibly blushing just ever so slightly.

"Yeah, sure."

(Y/N)'s friends gave them a look of worry. But only for a moment, since (Y/N) gave them a reassuring smile in return.

"I'll be back."

Kanaya nodded, and they all went back to what they were doing.

(Y/N) and Dave went to one of the classes that were empty, and no one really went to during lunch. The math class. No one would willingly go to the math class at lunch unless they had to talk about something important.

They stepped in and closed the door. Not locking it because they wouldn't need to, along with the fact that they wouldn't want others to get the wrong idea.

"So, what did you want to talk about?"

(Y/N) started, glancing at Dave for a moment and looking away so it would be slightly less awkward.

"Listen, I'm really sorry about this morning. I know you probably think I'm really weird and i understand if you-"

"What? No. You're like, the coolest person ever."

"Then can I..."

Although Dave was wearing sunglasses, (Y/N) could tell he was staring at them. He leaned in, and kissed them. It was quick, rough, and passionate.

(Y/N) froze.
They had no idea what to do. Dave liked them? Of course they liked Dave back but, they barely even spoke. (Y/N) was surprised, shocked. But, in a good way. A pleasant surprise.

(Y/N) didn't kiss back in time though because by the time they were going to, Dave pulled away.

"Oh fuck, I'm sorry-"

"Don't apologise."

"What?"

Dave just barely whispered, smirking nervously just ever so slightly.

(Y/N) practically hugged Dave and kissed him back. This time, lasting more than a moment. Maybe even a few minutes.

(Y/N) took off Dave's sunglasses to reveal his eyes. They were a beautiful red. And he stared at (Y/N) with a slight look of worry, or even fear for what they would think for just a moment, until (Y/N) held his face in his hands softly, and kissed him again. Slowly running their hands up to his hair. They smiled against the kiss and continued to kiss for what felt like forever. Not that either of them were complaining.

"I love you."
