The skies were covered in a blanket of dark clouds that roared with the pounding of the rain hitting the ground. The slight gap in the clouds let the beam of the moon alluminate the world around it. And the trees wiped around in the wind and also with the water from the air and the ground being tossed around in a frenzy.

The little girl huddled next to her dad as they walked through the wind and rain that soaked them. The umbrella proved to be useless as the rain seemed to drench them anyway thanks to the wind hurling it at them. The little girl tugged lightly on her father's coat to get his attention.

"How much further is it dad?"

"Not much. We should be there in a couple of minutes dear."

The little girl was silent as she was lost in thought as she looked up at her dad. She kept trudging her feet and she gripped onto her dad's coat for safety. Then a slight look of concern crept on her face as she asked,

"Where's mom?"

Her dad didn't respond.

"Dad, where is mom?" she said persistently.

Still no answer so she gave up and stopped. She thought of another way to get her dad's attention so that she could get an answer out of him. An idea popped up in her head as she figured out something that she could say. But, she was hesitant to ask in fear of what her father would say or do. She sighed and finally mustered up the courage to ask.

"Umm...dad, did you hurt mom...becau-"

Amy was interrupted as her dad stopped abruptly in his tracks and looked down at her. She cowered in fear as she felt that he was going to scream at her.

"Hey. Don't worry Amy i'm not going to scold you. It's just that me and your mother got into a little argument. Thats all," He said reasurringly.

"So mom didn't get hurt?"

"Don't worry I didn't hurt her. We were just bickering about something. And the only reason she isn't here yet is beause she went to help one of her friends out with something. She'll be back soon I promise."

Amy smiled and sighed in relief that her dad didn't yell at her. But she was still felt concerned about her mom but she just brushed it off as just a result of her just overthinking about things.

Several minutes passed as they finally reached their destination. Amy was in awe as she gazed up at the huge towering building that lie ahead of her. She was jumping in joy as she was finally going to get inside a shelter.

They walked besides on one side of the building as they were approaching the door to the inside of the building. Her dad grabbed his keys from his coat pocket quickly as they were nearing the door that was only a few feet away. And as they reached the front of the door he slid the key into the key hole without turning it. He looked at his daughter as he spoke,

"Listen Amy. When we go inside i'm going to take you to my office and you'll have to wait there until I come back. Okay?"

She looked up at her dad with a huge smile on her face as she said happily,

"Okay I will. As long as i'm inside and away from the rain."

Her dad smiled and focused his attention back to the door as he turned the key and slowly opened the door. He pulled the key from out of the slot and put his arm around Amy's back as he escorted her inside.

When they were finally inside he shut and locked the door behind him.

Amy sneezed from the cold but it didn't bother her since she was happy that she didn't have to be outside anymore. And they were both drenched like a drowned rat due to the horrible weather. She wished that they could've drove in the car but sadly it didn't start so they had to walk the whole way there.

Her dad folded up the umbrella and hadded it to her so that she could hold onto it.

"Come on let's go. The sooner we get to my office the faster that I can help dry you off. Okay Amy."

"Yes! Let's go!"

So they walked through the long corridor of doors until her dad finally stopped at one that had the number on the side of the door that said, room 112. Her dad once again grabbed the keys from his coat pocket and inserted the key in the slot as he opened it.

His office had a desk, a small bed, two extra chairs on one side of the room, cabinets, a door that lead into a bathroom, and hangers to put up his jacket and other things.

Amy scrammbled in the office quickly as she plopped herself on the bed.

Her dad entered the room and took off his coat and hung it up. He smiled at her as he said,

"Remember what I told you. Make sure you stay put and don't go anywhere until I come back."

She nodded as she waved at her father as he closed the door behind him leaving her all by herself.
