Welcome back!! I'm so sorry for not updating sooner. Life has been really jam packed right now, and so it's been hard to sit down and edit. I've had it written for the record!! I haven't included an Outfit for the beginning part, so just imagine whatever you'd like. If you have any outfit suggestions, please let me know!!

I can't help but be giddy with excitement. My maids had done nothing but giggle and tease my dream-like state. For once, I didn't mind the attention.

The whole castle had heard about Percy and I's date by now.

By the time breakfast was over, I was convinced that one of the other selected was going to strangle me in the hall. I spent the entirety of breakfast blushing as the whole royal family, including Percy's stupid grins, throw looks, smirking glances at me.

My good mood was spoiled as the day continued.

Sticking with his duty in the selection, Percy went on a few dates in the afternoon. From what I heard, he went riding with Silena, a movie date with Piper, where they happened to watch one of her father's movies, and even a walk through the garden with Drew. I couldn't help but feel jealous.

Even on my dates with Percy, every time he did something sweet and gentle, I couldn't help but feel that he was doing all these loving things with other girls. Every time though, I shake the thoughts away. I  have to trust that Percy was a gentleman and he wouldn't pull his best friend along. My heart tried to convince my mind of it, but to no avail.

Finally, lunch came and I was able to get out of my head. Piper and I had a fun and light-hearted discussion about Lady Madison, who had slipped in the gardens and played it off flawlessly. Drew glared across the hall once again, making me the hairs on my neck stand up and making me very self conscious.

When we were dismissed from lunch, Piper and I headed towards my bedroom for a little peace and quiet. But of course, Piper spent that time fawning over my outfit for the evening. Which happened to be a simple, gray lace two piece. The top was a sweetheart neckline and the lace on top made it an off the shoulder. The skirt was soft and flexible, with a ribbon wrapping around the waist. Piper also found some light pink heels with an ankle strap.

I glance up at the clock and realized that it's almost dinner time

I glance up at the clock and realized that it's almost dinner time. Piper leaves, letting Belle take over. She tames my hair into a braid crown updo. I slip in my owl earrings once again and readjust my camp necklace. I have high hopes for this date, and I'm not sure why, but it's almost like this date is going to be different. My maids usher me out the door and I made my way towards the dining hall.

As I make my way inside, I notice that a few of the girls still haven't made it down. Piper, sitting at her usual place, waves to me. As I sit down, we strike up a pleasant conversation, "So, do you know what your doing for your date tonight?" Piper asks. I glance up at Percy, who, along with Saly and Liz, enter the hall. He notices my gaze and winks.

I smirk, and look back to Piper. "I have no idea. Though, I overheard he's been working on it all day." Piper giggles dreamily.

"Annabeth, that boy is smitten with you!" I'm not sure "smitten" is quite the right word, but I smile. Percy stands, immediately drawing the attention of the room.

"Ladies, I do hope you have found your time at the palace comfortable?" The ladies nod and agree, making the jumble of agreement confusing. "Wonderful! Well, as you know there is another report in a little less than a weeks time. I will also have to make my cut down to the elite in a couple of weeks, which means that I'll be spending as much time with each of you as possible."

There is a mixed reaction. Some, excited to have more time with the prince, and others, extremely nervous for the elite cut. Percy continues, even over the chatter, "For those of you who are chosen as an elite, you will then begin to study the duties of a princess. Now, enjoy your dinner!" He sits down, taking a deep breath in relief. It almost made me laugh. Percy is out of his element here, surrounded by all these women.

After dinner, I'm approached by a few of the nicer selected girls, wishing me luck on my date tonight. Apparently, like I'd assumed, most of The Selected knew about my date tonight. I waited in my room for only a few minutes. Percy knocks on my door, the white dress shirt he wore today, had a few buttons undone at the top. He has his sleeves rolled to his elbows, and his jacket nowhere in sight. His hair is messier than usual, and he seems stressed out. I decided to voice my findings, "You look terrible, Seaweed Brain." He smirks. He did look hot though, if you ignored the large bags under his eyes.

"Thanks, Wise Girl. Trust me I saw the mirror this morning." He says sarcastically, his voice growing deeper gave me chills. Why did I suddenly think everything about Percy was hot all of a sudden. I mean, I'd seen him shirtless plenty of times...

I blush just thinking about it. Percy drags me down the hall, giving me only a spilt second to slam the door behind me. He pulls me up a staircase I'd never seen before. It climbed higher and higher, my breathing becoming a bit more labored.

Finally, it evened out and Percy opened a door to the roof. I gasped, it was gorgeous.

Blankets and pillows had been sprawled on the rooftop. Fairy lights kept the area bright, even as the sun started to set, giving it a romantic glow. There was a small table off to the side with some of our favorite foods, including Sally's blue cookies. Percy and I exchange warm smiles.

"What do you think, Wise Girl?" I smiled wide, running over to fall into the pillows. He chuckles, falling beside me into the sea of warmth. I look up at the sky, taking in the incredible expanse of stars. Sometimes I couldn't be believe there was so much world, so much out there. But, if I was going to be a queen, I'd never get to see all of it. "So," Percy starts, popping a plump strawberry into his mouth before continuing. He picks up the small platter and carried it over to the pillows. "Did I do good? I mean I wasn't sure how many pillows you'd want, then I wasn't sure you liked the strawberries so—"

I lean forward and kiss him softly, ending his overreacting rant and making him blush. His lips tasted like the strawberry he'd just ate. "I love the strawberries, Seaweed Brain." I lick my lips dramatically, pretending to taste his lips again. He blushes a deeper shade of pink, making me chuckle. "I'm teasing you." He smirks, digging his face into the blankets.

"Come on, Wise Girl," He mumbles into the blankets. "We're gonna watch the stars." He pulls his face out and unfolds his arms, pulling me into his chest. We sit there in total bliss.

I fall asleep to the silence of the stars, the warmth of my best friend next to me, and the sound of Percy's heartbeat.

The next morning comes too soon, but of course I'm the first to wake up. Percy is notorious for sleeping in. "I told you." I hear a soft voice mutter, probably trying to keep from waking me.

Better question, who are those people?

I peel my eyes open slowly, the sun burning my eyes. As my eyes adjust, I make out the figures of Sally and Liz who are standing over us, Percy groans, apparently he is awake as well.

"You guys are in big trouble."
