Veronica's POV

"What do you mean you're done, Archie?" I asked my now, for some random reason, ex boyfriend. He scoffed and looked down, shaking his head. I was holding back tears.

"I'm sorry, Veronica. I just don't want to hurt you anymore." He said. I scoffed now.

"Hurt me?" I stood up from the chair I was sitting in. "You're hurting me enough by not giving me a reason on why you are breaking up with me."

"Veronica, I said I'm sorry."

"Sorry won't fix this, Andrews. Just leave. Don't show your face here again." I said, opening the door for him to leave. He sighed and walked out. I immediately shut the door, and fell to the ground crying. Why did he have to do this? Why did he have to break my heart right before we all leave this dark and haunted town?

Friday 4:30 PM

I sat in Pop's by myself. Staying as far away from everybody as possible. I'm just starring at my milkshake, wondering what I did wrong. That's all I've been thinking about this whole week. What I did to make him break up him with me. What did I do wrong? Did I say the wrong thing? Did I do the wrong thing? I don't know. He never gave me an answer. I heard the bell on the door chime. I didn't bother looking up. I'm not going to risk getting caught by him. Not today. Not now. Not ever.

"Is something wrong?" I know him. I looked up at saw Jughead. I rolled my eyes and looked away from him.

"Jughead Jones. What a surprise to see you here." I said sarcastically. I noticed him smile out of the corner of my eye. He sat across from me. I looked at him. "What do you want?"

"Well, you look upset. I know we aren't the best of friends, but you can still talk to me." He said. And he sounded genuine. I sighed and looked away.

"There's nothing to talk about." I said.

"Veronica, don't do that. I know you're lying. Tell me, what is going on?" He asked. I looked back at him. He looked at me and waited. I sighed and sat up a bit.

"Archie broke up with me on Monday." I told him.

"He what?" I nodded.

"Yeah, he didn't even give me a reason why. He just came over one day and immediately got to the point. That I'm just a disgusting little bitch and he doesn't want to be with me anymore." I said.

"Wait, did he say that to you?" He asked.

"Not exactly, but it might as well been the words he used, though." I told him.

"I'll kill him," he said under his breath. I put a hand on his.

"Hey, we don't need another dead body in this town." I said, with a small laugh. He laughed a little too.

4:47 PM

We had left Pop's and started walking around town together and talking. We got to know more about each other. More than we ever did before. It felt like I actually had someone who cared about me for once.

"Wow, I didn't know you had such a big heart. I mean, I knew you had a big love with Betty, but for the world." I said, with a small laugh. He laughed nervously and looked down. I stopped smiling once I noticed. "Hey, what's wrong?" He shook his head.

"Nothing, nothing." He said. I sighed and stopped walking.

"Jones, don't do that. We've been getting along great and telling each other things. Don't end that streak of getting along, now." I told him. He sighed.
