"alright then, we've gone over the new song a couple of times- do you feel confident to be able to practice with the backing track next time?" "yes, thank you very much Ms Na" "and I think that's it for our lesson Ara, have a good day and next week we might start learning a new song. also, remember to practice smoothing out the transition into your head voice so you can hit those high notes." "thank you again Ms Na." I close the door to the singing room behind me and felt my excition build up and form as a small smile on my face.

"...Ara?" at the sound of my name I look up. "oh hey Minsu, what's up?" I smile up at her. "nothing much, did you just come from there?" she asks, pointing at the singing room. I nod shyly. "woahhh, you didn't tell us that you could sing!" "u-uh not well, but yeah, I've been taking singing lessons for a few years now." I blush, holding my folder of music sheets closer to my chest. "wait until Yoona and Micha hear about this, they'll be so excited." Minsu says, looping her arm around mine and leading me to the cafeteria.

16:00

"we're heading to Hongdae now right?" "Micha and I are, what about you Ara?" he's on a 'business' trip for a few days, so I'm safe. "hell yeah, let's go!" I laugh slightly at my friends' antics and let myself be dragged to the train station.

"OOO, guys! I'm going to go and get some street food from the vendor over there- do any of you guys want to come with?" I ask, getting out my wallet. "I'll come, maybe if I stick with you, I'll see some guys." Yoona laughs whilst attaching herself onto my arm. "yeah yeah, fat chance of that happening." I joke, ruffling her hair, making her pout at me.

we buy the food and catch up with Micha and Minsu. "let's go look at the performers, and hey, who knows, Ara here might be able to join in." Minsu says, winking at me. "huh? why??" bless Micha for being confused. "Ara takes singing lessons" Minsu says, slinging an arm around my shoulders. I blush at her words and opt to look at my shoes. "that's so cool!! now there's another reason for us to all to go to karaoke sometime."

the four of us continue walking around, occasionally stopping to watch some performances. Minsu, Micha and Yoona were adamantly watching a group of guys dancing to Where You At by NU'EST. I have to admit, they were pretty good. I saw someone familiar out of the corner of my eye and turned so that I could see them better. my eyes widen and I hide my face before he could find out that I was looking at him. apparently my sudden movement attracted the attention of Yoona, who glanced at me for a bit before her eyes widened a bit and she started hitting me frantically and giving me the signal to turn around. I do so and immediately feel my face start to heat up a bit. "o-oh hey" I say awkwardly, not knowing what to do. "hey cutie, I saw you over here so I thought I'd come say hi" he says giving me a closed eye smile. Yoona sent me a wink and went back to watching the guys dance with Minsu and Micha. "so, do you have a name, or can I keep calling you cutie?" he asks, cheekily. "u-uhm, right. I'm Moon Ara, and you are?" "you can call me Chris" shit- even his name is cute. "nice to meet you then Chris, p-please call me Ara then" I say, cringing internally over how this was going. "cute, oof, I can see my friend trying to get my attention now. I hope we'll meet again soon, Ara." Chris said chuckling and walking off towards a guy who had an eyebrow raised and was wearing a face mask and cap.

I walk into my room and lock the door securely behind me. I open up my laptop and click onto the Bookshelf website.

I smile and close my laptop and put it away. Chris never failed to make me smile with his daily quotes- that's for sure. I flop down onto my bed and replay the events that happened a couple of hours ago. I smile and bury my face into my pillow, acting like a twelve year old with a crush. I thank the fact that I lived in Australia for a year and was pretty much fluent in english. those skills allowed me to understand what Chris had said to me before he left to meet up with his friend. my smile grows larger and my face feels hotter- he called me cute. after he had left, Yoona, Minsu and Micha had all confessed that they heard the whole conversation and started lightly poking fun at me, saying that I was going to get a boyfriend.

I turn over and fall asleep with- for the first time in a while- a peaceful mind and a smile on my face.
