he hid behind a tree, watching the boy sprawled upon the grass under the night sky, watching the stars twinkling above.

even though it was dark, the stars were enough to light up his face, taking mark's breath away.

he sat down a safe distance away, when the boy talked.

"you can sit here you know?"

mark widened his eyes, before slowly getting up and making his way towards the boy, embarrassed.

"oh. you knew? i suck at it right?"

"yes. i'm sorry but your glow in the dark watermelon shirt isn't helping much."

the boy shrugged, before patting the grass beside him, telling mark to sit down.

the latter cleared his throat before sitting down, keeping his backpack beside him.

"so this is where you run off to as soon as school ends?"

"yes."

"why? what's so special about these... stars?"

"well, they never leave you, while people around you do it."

it would be an understatement if mark said those words have taken him aback.

"oh. never knew these celestial bodies mean so much. anyway, what's your name?"

"lee donghyuck. you can call me haechan. and yes, these stars mean a lot to me. they mean the world to me."
