I stared at the dark figure in the doorway.
"Dad?"
"What are you doing still up?"
"I think I'm up because you just woke me up...?"
"Oh I'm sorry. Good night Hana."
"It's fine dad. Good night."
Dad has never done that before. He was always so busy with work to check in on me. I guess that's why he was sort of awkward when he was at the doorway.
I fell asleep to some soft lofi music that I found on Spotify.
--------------------
I woke up to my annoying alarm. I looked in the bathroom mirror at my puffy face, fully dressed. I used a face roller to try and get my face to not look like a potato but...no luck. Apparently icing your face helps? I put ice in a paper towel and started massaging my face with it.
'I guess it sort of worked...' I thought to myself while staring at my now half puffy face in the mirror.
I slabbed on a little bit of concealer to hide my dark under eyes that were caused by my dumb ass staying up until almost 3am and some mascara to make my eyes look less tiny due to the puffiness. I packed my bag and grabbed some toast from the kitchen and checked my phone.
'7:53AM'
'Damn it, I'm late.'
I ran to school with my toast. No student was really around except for this one kid on a motorcycle. I guess they were late too.In the blink of an eye the kid on the motorcycle fell off of it. Now I could tell she was a girl.
She had greyish brown hair with blue gray highlights that faded together at the top and became more separated at the bottom with flowy fame framing bits. The skirt part of her uniform was altered to be tighter around her hips, and she was also wearing an orange and black windbreaker that I saw at the mall but couldn't buy because it was too expensive. She also had some black Doc Martens on.
"Oh my gosh are you okay?" I asked frantically.
She groaned and tried to get up, so I helped her get on her feet.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." She said with a straight face.
"You're welcome. I'm Kim Hana."
"You're the exchange student right?"
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
"Everyone knows you around here." She replied with a straight face. I could tell she doesn't smile much. I smiled back.
"Anyways, I'm Yoona. It's nice to meet you."
"It's nice to meet you too."
I helped pick up her bike and we started running towards school since we were late. We exchanged numbers, said our goodbyes and each went to our classes.
Nothing interesting happened at school. It was just another ordinary day at school. After school Hobi, Jimin and I said goodbye to the rest of the boys and walked home together. Before leaving, I looked around for Yoona but her along with her motorcycle was gone. Which was weird because we were let out early because I was one of the first to hand in the test and the teacher let me go.
'I guess she left early, too?' I thought.
I didn't think much of it and goofed off while walking with Hobi and Jimin. When we arrived in front of my house, I said goodbye to them and went in, said hi to dad, etc. I changed into sweats and sat down on my bed with my laptop and textbooks. It took me over 6 hours to finish and hand in my assignments thanks to Netflix. I'm a huge procrastinator, like the rest of the population.
