Dedicated to Cherry_Cola_x
She's the writer of the book, The Bad Boy Stole My Bra which started on Wattpad but now is a published book available in bookstores in different languages too!
1) What's your full name?
Lauren Price.2) What would you love your readers to know about you?
I'm Lauren, I'm 21 and I live in the UK! I'm currently studying English lit at university. I have been on Wattpad for 8 years now (crazy I know!) and it's one of the best things in my life. I've met so many people, I love reading the comments and coming up with quirky meet-cute ideas. Other hobbies include Netflix, playing with my dog amd annoying the crap out of my boyfriend (I'm a bit of an Alec type in real life).3) What's your major inspiration when it comes to writing?
My inspiration is always titles - I come up with random, quirky scenarios for my two main characters to meet (stealing bras, almost killing their mom etc) and the rest goes from there!4) How did writing begin for you, Lauren?
Writing began for me by telling my little sister bed time stories - I used to send her to sleep. Then, I started writing them down!5) Cake or Ice cream?
Ice cream - specifically Ben and Jerry's or Haagen Daz.6) In your popular book A Bad Boy Stole My Bra did anything happen to you in real life or are the events just fictional?
Ahaha I get asked this question and my answer is always 'I wish!' Some of the characters are inspired by people in my life but that's about where the comparison ends sadly. No bra-thief bad boys threatening my bed room window.7) When writing a book, what do you think writers should consider so they can have a successful book?
Tight plots and well developed and thought about characters. I think every word you write should be in there for a reason. A lot of what makes writing better is cutting out all of the unnecessary details that nobody wants to read.8) So far, how has writing been?
Great - I always love writing! It gives me so much comfort, and I love the opportunity to live other lives vicariously through my characters.9) Who is your favorite Wattpad author and non-wattpad author?
steffy_t and TaintedRain are a couple of my favourites, alongside
EternalZephyr . I've been lucky enough to talk to them and so so talented! For non-wattpad, I'm very into Beth O'Leary and Estelle Maskame's book at the moment.10) If you didn't find Wattpad do you think you'll be writing?
Yup I'm pretty sure I'd be always writing, but Wattpad has made it even better.11) What's your favorite book?
Currently the Flatshare by Beth O'Leary but it changes often.12) How do you deal with writer's block?
Haha I just try to make good plans so I always know what to write next. The planning stages takes longer but gives me a better grip on the pace of the story and what happens in each chapter, so I'm never lost. I still loose motivation sometimes but that's about self discipline I guess :')13) Do you have any project on writing you're currently working on?
I do - for both Wattpad and outside of it! It's all very hush hush atm though 😉14) So many writers want to give up because they are not getting the exposure they need and expect, what word of advice do you have for them?
I can definitely understand why it's easy to find writing demoralizing - but ultimately, write for yourself and not others! If you let yourself and not others! If you let yourself get bogged down with exposure and reads and publication, then it can take most of the fun out in writing because you feel like a failure. Really, it should be about you, practicing what you love and creating characters you're passionate about. Good things will come, but now focus on everything else that writing can offer you!15) Did you ever go through the problem of having little or no reads when you started writing?
Abbsmb took a long time to grow as much as it did - I don't think I hit a million before I was nearing the end of the book. Mostly it became popular after I finished it. It's easy to demotivate when things don't go as well as you hoped, but try to persevere!16) What are your names on social media?
@abbsmb on Twitter and Instagram.
@Laurenprice_x if you'd like to follow my personal account.17) What's your advice to upcoming writers and all your fans?
You're all incredible and I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for me. Keep reading, keep writing and let's all continue to get better at the things we love! Write the book that you'd want to read!
