She's a winner of WattNigeria mini contest for the category of best female character. The Love Job is her book and you shouldn't hesitate to try it out.
1) Your full name and briefly about you.
My name is Abass Lateefat Elizabeth. I am 17 years old. I'm a sucker for paranormal books and romance, of course. We all need that touch of love in our lives. I'm a Nigerian, from Ogun State but I base in Lagos. Where the fun is 😂2) How did you find out about the Wattpad Nigeria contest?
I most definitely saw it from someone's reading list and decided to give it a try, looking back at it now, it was worth it.3) What's the inspiration behind the winning book?
The Love Job was born one night when my Twinny and I were sitting outside one day, watching the moon, we were pretty much bored and then we just started talking about wealth and she immediately started acting like some badass woman(Ivonne) and I played the part of the cool guy(Ayo). Looking back now, I don't know how it happened but we did that for many nights and one day she was like "hey you should turn this into a book" and yh, I couldn't stop thinking about it.
Pretty random? You can say that.4) what promoted you to apply for the awards?
The reason why I applied for The best female character was because, I had so much faith in Ivonne. The way I created her, the way I presented her to the public. She's the strong, independent woman that most people want to be, a woman that most people would like to avoid, a woman that most people consider "a no nonsense person". A woman that just has so much fire, she has the girl power going on around her, I just could not skip that form when I saw it. I had to fill her up there. That's where she belongs and I believe that the world needs to see it.5) How did you feel when you found out you won the award for best female character?
Ohmygosh! Now this is enough to make me smile 😄. At first when I saw the ping, I was so nervous and anxious. I mean there are so many other strong girls out there, will Ivonne make it? Even I had doubts but when I saw that I topped that. Oh the joy that I felt, it knew no bounds. I was so happy... okay maybe I did squeal for some time, but yh, I was really happy and grinned all day long.6) What would you say is tiring about writing, what makes you want to give up?
For me, the hardest part of writting is keeping the drama going. This id a very confusing thing to do. Too much of it, can make your book tiring. Too little, can make one lose interest. So trying to keep everything on the fence just makes me so tired and makes me want to throw the idea of that book away 😣7) Which do you prefer writing, Nigerian themed books or foreign books?
I prefer foreign books. Even though Nigerian books should be easier for me it is. It's just that if I write that, one can still feel the "foreign air" around it. So I prefer foreign books as I read more of that.8) How do you deal with writer's block?
Writer's block is a bad place to be in, so how I deal with mine is read the previous chapters and from there I get back the interest of writting the book but yh, this takes days 😬9) Is there a particular thing you do to get inspiration? ( like listen to music or listening to the sound of the rain etc)
Finding inspiration is not so hard for me, I get it from pretty much anywhere. Watching movies, listening to music, having a conversation with a person... anywhere.10) At what age did you discover your talent of writing?
I have been writting for as long as I can remember so I can't give a certain number.11) Who is your Nigerian role model when it comes to writing?
Sadly I don't have one but I'm still searching.12) What's the last movie you watched?
Last movie I watched was Birds of prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn.13) What measures can Nigerians on Wattpad take to get the exposure they want?
I would say that Nigerian writers or well... writers should just keep writing, doing their best and giving all they got. Participate in many contests, like the Wattsy to gain more publicity, participate in the Open Novella Contest and don't miss an opportunity to get out there. Have faith in your story and trust in your writing skills and your characters.14) What do you have to say to the hosts of Wattpad Nigeria awards?
To the hosts of Wattpad Nigeria Awards, I just want to say I am so grateful for ever bringing this award up. I pray you have the strength to keep this up. Thank you so much and for the admins and judges, thank you so much for I believe that you judged fair and square and I want to commend your efforts. Stay safe out there y'all and thanks again. Till we meet next year.Congrats on winning!
