She waited patiently for a message back from him, it had been over two hours. She was walking around her apartment, because there wasn't much to do, then she remembered that there was a pond near her. She got a book and some glasses and headed out.
She set her phone right next to her and began reading, while sipping on her bottle of water.
She had been a few chapters in when she heard her phone buzz. Her eyes lit up she assumed it was him. She went to check it immediately.

Usually she would be happy to get pizza deals, but she was very disappointed to see that it wasn't him. She began to worry, and that's when she decided to message him.
Hey I'm not sure if you forgot to message me, but I hope you're home and safe!
"Was that exclamation mark too much?" She thought aloud then shrugged.
She was waiting for a message back but got nothing after staying there for 30 minutes. She finally decided to head back to her apartment. She entered and had lost the appetite she once had. She plopped herself on the bed and felt her eyes begin to water. She had really enjoyed the time with him and she kept wondering why he never messaged back.
Her pillow was soaked in salty tears and her eyes were red from crying.
"What's wrong" said a voice from the opposite side of her
She jumped with surprise only to see that Pluto was sitting on the reading chair. It was his chair now because of how often he sat in it.
"It's just.. my- uh my friend, left and hasn't texted me back like he promised, I honestly don't know why I'm crying I had just met him" she sobbed
Pluto got up and walked near her.
"Then maybe he wasn't a good friend after all" he said while patting her back softly.
His face was emotionless, he almost didn't seem to care as to why she was crying.
"No that's not true" she defended him "Aaron doesn't seem like the type of guy to do that"
"But you had just met him isn't that right?" He scoffed "anyway how bout I lighten the mood"
He pulled out a a tiny jar necklace from the inside of suit jacket. It had a red substance inside and what seemed like rocks. He held it out to her.
"What is it?" she mumbled
"It's a good luck charm from the underworld" he smiled "it contains blood, tears, and three teeth"
She made a disgusted face, when reaching for it.
"Blood? Where did you get this from" she quivered
"Don't worry it's all ethically sourced" he lied "lemme put it on you sweetheart"
She turned around and grabbed her braids and pulled them upwards while he tied the necklace to her. He leaned in and put his face hear her neck.
"Doesn't it look nice, love" he whispered
"Now that I think about it, it does look nice" she turned around to hug him. "I know I didn't call you today but I appreciate you for showing up, I think I feel a bit better"
He rubbed her back.
"That's good" He smiled devilishly.
