In my room. In my bed. I'm hooked up. Someone must have found me. It's still bright out, but I can't go back out. Too many ghosts, the yard is full of them. Last night I didn't hook myself up I must have been dehydrated or nutrients deprived. I unplug the long tube from my connection which sticks a little under a centimetre out of my stomach. Whoever brought me back took off my shoes and jacket and left them in a heap at the end of my bed. I've already overstepped my boundaries if whoever put me back was any smarter I would be hanged on sight. I'm glad though, I will not be that reckless again.
I walk down the hall, following a tall boy who lives across the hall from me in the teen ward. He is branded Bobby, the same name as my favourite character in the last book I read. The boy, Bobby, has short blond hair and blue eyes. He seems like he would be a nice guy... if he talked. A lot of the time when I get bored I follow the other inmates around. They have nothing to hide. He does nothing like I thought we just scour the building then just stop. On the fifth floor. The highest story in the prison. The chip also works as a messenger. Bobby listens to the silent message. Showing no warning he turned on a dime and almost crashes into me. I dodge him as he sprints passed me. As if I were on a chain attached to his belt loop I sprint close behind. I chase after him down the hall until we reach a set of oak doors. Two words were carved into the wood 'P.A.' I've walked passed this door so many times but I've never gone in. Nothing about struck me as odd I thought that the person hidden behind the door had the brand of P.A. Or maybe those are just initials. Bobby turns the brass nob. He slides the door open slightly and peers in. We wait at the door until someone speaks up. A raspy voice, deep, spoke up loud, "Come in... Quickly." Bobby walks in, I follow in his footsteps. My feet where his just left. A man sits behind an oak desk which matches the door. The man is tall and bald. He doesn't even have eyebrows. His eyes white blue, no pupils. He is blind. The chair facing the bald man creaks as Bobby sits down, I stand behind him. The frantic blue light stops and turns solid green. They only turn this colour when give orders. "Bobby. I am Professor Axander."
"Yes." he replies. It is the first time I have ever heard his voice, it's light and scruffy. His voice defiantly doesn't match his looks. He defiantly does look like a solder. Big and muscular.
"We have detected a new chance for a new military personal to come to the base. Five new bright minds have arisen in Bavail. I think it's time to go hunting." As he says the word 'hunting' a smile brakes across his face. A wicked, terrible smile, which bares his sharp, warn down teeth and crinkles his eyes into a deathly, angry shape. Then the laugh that follows shortly after. A cackle, paired perfectly with the wicked smile.
He flips off he heads off to one of the trophies which sit prettily on his desk to reveal a red button. He presses the button and a strange keyboard popped out of the desk. He begins typing immediately. Each key made a different noise some louder some softer but it was all clicking. The door handle screams as it turns. I jump behind the desk beside the Professors chair hidden from view of any of the other people coming into the room. "Come in quickly we don't have long until the signal goes out." The Professor motioned them in. I jump into the corner behind me as the door swings wide. Four other people from the teenage ward swagger through the door. I recognize three of them. The tallest is a boy with pale skin, dark brown eyes and scruffy brown hair, branded Boston. He's about 18 and has lived beside me for as long as I've lived here. The next is a a boy a few inches shorter than him, thick with black eyes, dark skin branded Charles. And then a petite girl with curly fiery red hair, one eye is green the other, blue, branded Kallee. They all room around me. But the other one I've never seen before. An Asian girl shorter than Kallee but thicker. They stand blocking the door in a line facing the Professor. "There are five new sets of coordinates that have shown up on the radar. I'm sending them to you now." He presses a few buttons. "All the coordinates are within the city limits, so you will have to watch out for the authorities." I thought we were the authorities. Maybe the city just has its own separate police force. "Good luck soldiers." He solutes to them. They solute back.
