"so this is my room," nini elongated the word room as ricky awkwardly entered the bedroom. the boy was thinking about how her room was the size of his living room, but he didn't say anything; trying to avoid yet another argument.

"it's really nice..." ricky awkwardly said. nini nodded her head and brought another chair over to her desk. the two sat down at the desk and quickly got their books out of their backpacks.

"so what's the project again?" ricky asked the girl who was reading the project guide. nini let out a deep sigh and held the paper to her face.

"create a presentation and essay describing a cycle of life within any plant or animal that is crucial to the nature and life of earth. the presentation must be at least fifteen minutes long and the essay must be at least five pages long. this will count as our final, so it's due at the end of the semester," nini explained.

"hmm so anything to show a life cycle.." ricky pondered out loud. he opened up his notebook and started to list down all of the ideas that crossed through his mind.

"what about butterflies?" nini blurted out. ricky's head shot up from his notebook and he gave the girl a confused look.

"why butterflies?" ricky asked. nini shrugged her shoulders as ricky let out a deep sigh, "no offense nini, but it kinda seems like a fifth grade project. besides we don't really need butterflies, like they're not crucial to life on earth."

"actually, butterflies are indicators of an ecosystem and environment being healthy. butterflies can actually provide a lot of environmental benefits such as pollination or natural pest control and they even help ecologists study the impact of habitat loss, fragmentation, and climate change," nini simply stated, "don't forget their crucial role in the food chain."
