Going back to work was a hard thing to do, especially with Alvin Olinsky not being there. The unit was totally silent as they did paperwork. Kim had gotten up and walked out with no one stopping her. She watched him die in her arms , they knew she didn't want to sadly look at his desk across from her.

Olinksy's death never stopped running through her mind. She knew one day that could be her, one day she was going to die. She needed to say and do a lot of things before she hit that mark. Not worrying about the driveway being an exit for the firehouse, she parked and got out.

She walked in and everyone froze looking at her. The whole city was in mourning and Gabby and Sylvie sadly told them what happened since they were the first ambulance there. Sympathetic looks were given her way and she didn't show that it bothered her.

"Where's Severide ?"

"His bunk." Gabby told her softly. She nodded and walked away, leaving them in silence. Kim didn't bother knocking on his door before walking in and shutting the door behind her. Kelly was on his phone , leaning against the window to the outside of his room. His blue eyes looked at her sadly.

He had came to Olinsky's funeral with her. They didn't say a word to each other that whole day. He held her when she cried and he took her home , put her in her bed and held her. The next day , she told him that she didn't need him around. Kelly didn't fight with her before nodding his head and leaving.

Her eyes went to the small sonogram picture that was on his nightstand.

"Why do you still have the sonogram picture up Kelly ?"

"I don't know. Just can't get rid of it yet." He told her softly, putting his phone in his pocket.

"That doesn't make sense but okay."

"Well it does to me." He looked at her before sighing. "Look , if that much of a big deal , I'll take it down because right now , I don't think we are in the same place about all this. We never had a chance to talk."

Kim sighed before sitting on his bed , facing him. He put his hands in his pockets and looked at her.

"If you want to talk , fine , let's talk."

"Kim , we don't have to do it here-"

"We should because we haven't said a thing to each other about it. Just say what you have to say and get it off your chest."

"Okay." He looked at her blankly as he fumbled with the watch on his wrist. "What am I supposed to get off my chest ?"

"Kelly , your feelings , your anger."

"What do you mean ?" He asked her softly and Kim rolled her eyes as her body stiffened. She was already getting angry with him and they haven't even gotten to the realest part of the conversation.

"Kelly , I can tell , I can feel it. You blame me for losing the baby."

"Blame you ? I don't blame you, what are you talking about ?"

"Because I wasn't supposed to be there. I wasn't supposed to be in the field. I wasn't supposed to be in the motel-"

"And you were." Kelly admitted before looking at her again. "But you saved a little girl's life."

"But I could've waited three minutes-"

"No you couldn't have. That man would've beat the girl to death if you haven't stepped in." He told her as he noticed her face turning red as she tried to not tear up. "Kim , you're a cop , you did your job, you were at a scene-

"I wasn't supposed to be at the scene !" She shouted , standing up. "I wasn't supposed to be at the motel ! I wasn't supposed to lose the baby! Don't you get that ?"
