~Alfred pov~
"Why on earth would you ask him on a date!!!!??" Mattie came into my room and yelled. "Hey!! Calm down, it's not a date, I just wanted to hang out with him" I laughed. "Yeah right!!! What are you planning?" He asked. I actually felt so offended that he thought I was planning something. I wasn't but I just wanted to get to know him. I couldn't believe kiku actually said yes, I was honestly expecting a rejection. "Why do you keep trying to be his friend?"
"Hey don't ask that?! This is your fault, you basically brought us together brother" I laughed. His face grew Pale as he finally realized it was because of him. "I guess I will have to live with that fact" he laughed a little. "But I know I don't want to challenge him or anything, but Mattie , don't you see?" I asked shaking him.
"What?"
"You and I, we are literally the only friends we have. I meant we have acquaintances but not friends, I know it's last minute, but let's try and meet new people" I smiled. "Alright, fine. I agree that we don't have a lot of friends, but truly not to act so excited, it makes people uncomfortable, you don't want to scare kiku away." He spoke. My eyes widened at what he said. I didn't realize that I could have been coming off strong. That is something I need to fix!
That night as our family ate dinner, I was sort of quiet . "So how was your day?" Our papa asked. "Which one are you talking to?" I joked looking to Matthew and then pointing to myself. Our papa caught my joke and shook his head. "Whoever talks first I guess. Which is you, how was your day" he smiled nicely.
"Alfred has a date!!!" Matthew yelled with a smirk. I squeezed the living hell out of the food in my hand , making it go all over the place. Our dad spit out his tea as our papa smirked at Matthew widely. "Mattie!! I told you it wasn't a date" I said shocked. However he just continued to smile at me. That evil bastard!!!
"Alfred, are you really going on a date?" Our dad asked shocked. "I didn't even know you both had friends" papa said making Mattie and I look down defeated. They really did us that dirty.
"We have friends!!! Just not a lot. And it's not a date, we are going as friends...alone....to the Japanese tea garden here in town" I spoke looking down. I knew papa was going to start giving me advise and dad was just going to judge silently. "Ahhhh..... well, just be careful" papa said. Mattie and I looked at each other shocked, we were expecting the same outcome, but that didn't happen. I looked to both of them, and they just stared at each other. "Really? That's it?" I asked confused.
"Yeah, just don't do anything reckless" dad smiled at me. He was always so serious all the time I was surprised. "Awww, Arthur you are so cute when you smile" papa gushed. Dad dropped his smiled and glared. "Yeah, and that's all you are seeing for the next fifteen years" he said shaking his head. "Aww do you want to be with me for another fifteen , that sounds nice" papa smiled. There they go again, acting like kids.
As everyone finally started to talk again, I received a text message on my phone.

Seeing the number and the name made me get so excited, I just wanted to jump out of my chair and scream. I quickly answered back , and saved his number.
Me- hey!! I did not know if you would use my number.
Kiku- well you did ask me to....
Me- Right.....so what's your address?
I was getting more excited by the minute, I just have to try and not scare him away with my enthusiasm. Just like what Matthew said, I just need to pull it back a bit.
Kiku-it is 1010 cherry St
Me-great!!! I will get you around 7:30pm

I stopped texting him for now so I could finish eating. However, that didn't stop me from smiling through the food. "Alfred? Why are you smiling so much?" Papa asked. "No reason, this food is just really good, as usual" I smiled back. I noticed Mattie and dad look at each other, watching at how shocked papa looked at my response. So what if people thought it was a date, as long as kiku is happy, I'm happy.
Gosh he is so cute though, so small , I could just carry him in my arms and make sure no one hurt him ever.

Even as I lay in bed that night, I could not get him out of my mind. I barely have known him for a full day, yet I'm so excited about him. Maybe it is because I haven't had a different friend, besides my brother in such a long time. The idea of having a new friend was exciting me, even if he seemed a bit quite on the outside, I just knew he would open up to me very soon. I just needed to push, but not too hard where I will scare him off, I do not want that.
Images of him ran through my head as I tried to sleep. His dark hair and light smooth skin were consuming me in great awe as I lay there. He made me speechless , I bet his personality and soul was as beautiful as he looked every time I saw him. I just wanted to jump all over the place and sing to the mountain tops, but I suppose that was an understatement to how I really feel. Saturday , I will make sure he has the time of him life, that he will be the happiest person alive that day.
