"do you think he'll like this?"

six months. it has been six months since we dated and today i am surprising him. i could feel my heart beating fast out of nervousness as i prepared the cake.

"of course he will." wonjin winked, patting me on the back as i shook my head.

"hey, hyung." i turned as i heard someone calling me. "where should i put the balloons?" it was donghyun.

"just put them by the walls, keumdong." i replied and he nodded,

"this is your first time surprising him, hyung." dongpyo told me as he decorated the studio.

for the past months, we didn't pull off big surprises. we thought that it would be best for us to just get together and hangout instead.

but for some reason, i think it's best to do something out of the usual today. sure he'll be surprised but that's part of the fun. besides, minhee deserves to experience a surprise such as this.

"i know." i replied, "and i hope everything will fall according to plan."

"you sound like some evil villain planning on world domination." allen commented and i shook my head, chuckling.

"the things he does for minhee, i swear." changwook said, helping donghyun with the balloons. "hey after you and minhee get a bite of the cake, can i have some?"

"me too! i want cake!" donghyun said, raising his arm.

i looked at them and nodded, "yea, sure. you guys can have some, just don't finish it."

"but i get to eat after you two. besides, the reason why you two met was because of yours truly." changwook said, proudly.

"oh, really???" donghyun asked, getting curious and changwook nodded,

"he even hated minhee's guts back then." he said and i shook his head.

i didn't hate minhee. he was just so loud and annoying and i don't like being around with noisy people. during highschool, minhee and changwook were neighbors and they go to school together. when minhee saw changwook and i eating at the cafeteria, he got curious and asked changwook for my number.

during that time, i was so dependent on changwook that he wanted me to make new friends. which is why even though i specifically told him not to share my number or any of my social media accounts, he still gave my number to minhee. i didn't talk to him for three days because of that.

what ended my cold shoulder was minhee constantly sending me messages. the first thing he sent to me was a picture of a fork and he told me that if i won't resend this to 20 other people, i'll turn into one. back then i thought that what he did was crazy but now i think that it was funny and kinda cute.

since changwook and minhee are close, i swallowed my pride and talked to him about how my phone wouldn't stop ringing because of minhee. typical changwook just laughed it off and told me that it's a sign for me to gain new friends.

honestly, i didn't really believe in signs at first. i was more of a person who see things realistically. in my opinion, finding signs are just useless and they only make you overthink things.

but my views changed when i met minhee.

when i was roaming around the campus, i found him struggling to get a step right for his pe class. minhee wasn't really much of a dancer back then and he felt really insecure of it. normally i would just mind my own business and leave but something pushed me to go and help him.

we started talking because of that. as i helped him with his pe class, i realized that minhee isn't that annoying and he just really wanted to be friends with me. i thought that he'll be a burden but he turned out to be a good company. whenever i struggled with my science class, he never hesitated to teach me even if im a bit of a slow learner.
