Busy Day

I run through the crowd. I hate New York sometimes. You're almost never on time for anything. But I have to be on time. This is Kidd Industries, you can never be late. If you are, kiss your job bye bye. I finally stand right in front of the building. Oh thank god. I check my watch.

"9:13, I still have 2 minutes. Come on Emily." I whisper and walk inside. I get small hello's but ignore them as I quickly to the timer to check in. I get there and put my card in, clocking me in. I check the clock and smile. Right on time. I walk down the hall, this time calmer. I walk up to the CEO door, Mr. Kidd's door. I gently tap it with my fist.

"Hm? Oh, come in, come in." He ussures and I walk inside. Mr. Kidd is a really kind old man. He has short white hair and kind green eyes. Nothing like his playboy son. "Aw, Miss Waters. To what do I owe the pleasure?" Mr. Kidd asks. I hold out a file and he takes it

"Its for the new global energy project meeting today, sir." I tell him and he flips through the papers.

"Good, thank you Miss Waters. Now, can I assume my son is coming?" He asks.

"If he's not at some girls house." I grumble. He sighs

"Yes, Jason is a bit, how should I say..." he trails off.

"Arrogant? Flirtatious? Manipulative?" I ask. He chuckles

"Yes, I believe thats a sum up. Hold that thought" he presses the button on his PDA for his secretary "Jean, get Jason down here. That is, if he is here." he says before taking his finger off thr button. He sticks on his desk, tapping his fingers while we wait. Just as we're about to give up, Jason runs in. Lipstick stain on his collar, trashed hair, and messed up shirt and blazer. Impressive. Heated make out sessions and it's not even 10 yet.

"Oh, uh, hey. This..." he looks at himself "Isn't what it looks like." He lies. I roll my eyes while Mr. Kidd pinches the bridge of his nose.

"Who was it this time, Jason? The Human resources lady? The secretary for the 3rd floor?" I ask.

"Miss Waters, please." I shut up "Jason, this is unexeptacle." Mr. Kidd tells him.

"You're telling me. Lady didn't give me her number." Jason grumbles.

"Jason! This has to end. You're going to be CEO someday, and I cannot have the CEO off... playing chicken with his employees." Mr. Kidd tells him.

"Not playing chicken. Cupid maybe but..." Jason trails. I walk to the door, my heels clicking with every step

"Well, I should be going. You two having fun, gentlemen." I say with a smile before leaving. When I'm out though, I can't help but feel extra annoyed with Jason. He's heir to Kidd Industries? I can't help but think I deserve this place more than him. And it's not even my dad who founded the company!
