I walk down the hall of my apartment building and walk up to my door. I knock but no one answers. I sigh and grab my key. I open the door and silently gasp. My sister Hayley was tied by my scarves to a chair. Wesley was wearing a cowboy hat and Miranda was giggling on the couch, wearing a tiara and had a toy wand.
"Princess Miranda, what are your orders?" Wesley asks, not seeing me.
"I declare that the witch be banished from the kingdom of fun and sugar!" Miranda shouts, trying to sound fancy.
"What is going on here?!" I ask. The three of them turn to see me
"Oh...uh, hi mom." Wesley greets awkwardly.
"Em! Help me out here!" H ayley begs. I sigh and drop my purse. I run over and undo the knots.
"I thought you said she was sleeping and he was taking a shower." I remind her.
"Well... I may have lied so you wouldn't panic." She admits. I groan and cover my eyes with one arm. I undo the last knot and she sighs in relief. She stands up and stretches.
"You two, kitchen, now. I'll serve dinner in a few minutes. Than we will talk about your punishments." I tell them and they groan. Wesley picks Miranda up from the couch and he takes her to the kitchen. "Hayley, I asked you to watch over them. Not get captured." I remind her.
"I know, I know, but, I'm kinda only 23. I'm not really ready to watch over kids. I was also kinda snuck up on by them so..." She trails. I sigh and rub my forehead "Emily, these kids have issues." She jokes and I glare. She coughs and picks up her bag "I-I should, uh, get going...So, bye!" She says and runs out. I walk into the kitchen where Wesley and Miranda sit. I place my hands on my hips
"Okay, what was it this time?" I ask.
"She disobeyed the princess?" Wesley suggests. I sigh and sit down.
"Guys, you can't keep doing this. Do you know what would happen if anyone ever found out?" I ask. They look at each other and shake their heads. "Services could decide I'm not good enough to raise kids and they could take you two into the system." I explain.
"Sorry mom." Wesley apologizes.
"Me too, mommy." Miranda says sadly. I smile
"You know I love you guys. So please, be nicer to your aunt next time she comes." I say and they nod "Now, no TV for a week, understood?" I ask.
"Yeah..." Wesley replies.
"So, who wants pizza?" I ask.
"I do! I do!" Miranda replies.
"Papa Johns?" Wesley asks.
"Where else?" I reply with a smirk. He smiles and I mess with his hair before getting up and walking away. I walk into the living room to grab the phone and I see a drawing on the floor. I pick it up and frown. Obviously it was by Miranda. It had me, Wesley, and her. But the thing that made me frown was that she drew her dad. Her dad, as in she and Wesley have different dads. I had Wesley when I was 17 because I was a stupid teenager. I later had Miranda when I was 23 and the seconds her dad found out, he bolted. So, it's been me and kids. I've had a couple of dates but they haven't worked out really. I crumble up the paper and throw it in the thrash can before walking away. I grab the phone
"Hello? Yeah, I'd like a large pepperi pizza and a liter soda?"
