Alice- 13 Years (1914)

Vision

"Happy birthday Alice! I hope you like the decoration?" mom says. "It's beautiful Mommy! I love the birthday parties you organize for me. Everything is so beautiful rose ..." Thank you! "" We'll have to celebrate with the two of us. "Mommy sat next to me in the seat and hugged me, hid her face in my hair and she whispers sweetly in my ear, "I love you Alice. You will be my little Alice forever. "

End of vision

I woke up and sat up on my bed. I had a vision in my sleep. Mommy is going to organize a surprise party for my birthday tomorrow. How nice is that !? I think I'm not going to say anything about the vision to mama to please her. I get out of my bed and put on my brown pants with a t-shirt. I walk downstairs and there Mommy and Cynthia are having breakfast. Dad had already started working in his own jewelry store. The only thing that really interests him after mom and Cynthia. Cynthia is now 7 years old and is going to daycare so that mom and I can play outside together. We are often together the week before my birthday. Mommy and I are having fun that day. We sit on the swing together and we play hide and seek. After a super nice day I am tired and go to sleep. Although I did not fall asleep easily. I'm worrying about my vision. Dad was not there. Only mom and I were in the living room, even Cynthia was not there. Where were Dad and Cynthia in my vision? Sleep entered my eyes and closed.

The next morning I wake up with a nice feeling. I'm fourteen now! I put on my pink dress because it's my birthday and run downstairs. Dad is still at the table so I'm going to give him a hug. Although I know that daddy doesn't like hugs very much. I hadn't even got it yet and then he calls to me ... "Mary Alice Brandon! No hugs!" I shoot so fast that tears come to my eyes. "But daddy, it's my birthday I'm turning fourteen today," I said in a friendly tone. Dad looks straight at me. "I'm forty-two years old and I never got hugs on my birthday! So ask Mama if she wants to give you a hug." I'm so shocked at what Dad just said! I run up the stairs but decide to wait a while longer, hoping Daddy will call me back to say sorry. Just then Mom comes to the table with Cynthia and asks what happened. "Alice thinks she can just give me a hug. While she didn't do anything to make me proud." I hear Dad say. "It's Alice's birthday, Nolan! You should rather be for her!" Nothing has been said for a long time. Until dad leaves for work. I'm still standing on the stairs listening to the conversation. "Cynthia is going to my jewelry store to help." Mommy starts to protest. "It's Alice's birthday, it's bad enough that you're never around. Are you going to forbid Cynthia from being here on her birthday too?" "She's coming!" Dad picks up Cynthia and walks out the door without her saying anything. The door slams shut and the whole house shakes. I now walk to my room and lock the door.

After two hours I decide to go down anyway. After all, it is my birthday so I am entitled to it. When I walk into the living room I stop, I am frozen. Everything was so beautifully decorated with pink streamers. Mommy comes to me. "Happy birthday Alice! I hope you like the decoration?" "It's beautiful Mommy!" "We'll have to celebrate with the two of us." Mommy sat down next to me in the couch and hugged me, hid her face in my hair and whispered sweetly in my ear, "I love you Alice. You will be my little Alice forever."
