This is an AU where instead of Pink Diamond going to Earth it was Yellow Diamond after being neglected by the other diamonds. After starting a rebellion against the diamonds and faking her own shattering Yellow Diamond committed to being Yellow Quartz. Soon she  met Greg Universe and soon she had her child, Stephen. Sadly after having him she had to give up her gem and her life. The last of the Crystal Gems consist of Malachite, Peridot, Yellow Pearl, and Stephen.

As the morning sun spread across his bed, Stephen awoke to see Yellow Pearl sitting at the edge of his bed.

"Are you okay? You kept saying stuff in your sleep," Yellow Pearl asked standing up and walking over to Stephen and putting her hand on his forehead.

Stephen pushed Yellow Pearl's hand off and said, "I'm fine. It was just a bad dream."

"Are you sure? You kept saying things about...your mom," Yellow Pearl said a slight tone of sadness creeping into her voice.

"I'm fine," Stephen said standing up.

"Okay then. If you insist," Yellow Pearl said standing up and walking away.

Stephen changed into a pair of jeans and into his usual yellow shirt with a pink star in the middle. He ran down about half of the way down the steps and jumped onto the couch bouncing and accidentally bumping into Malachite that was sitting on the couch.

"Morning Stephen. How's my favorite little slugger?" Malachite asked punching Stephen's shoulder. Stephen winced as his shoulder was punched. It felt like a giant rock was just thrown at his arm.

"I'm doing good Malachite!" Stephen chuckled rubbing his arm. Peridot walked into the room and waved to everyone sitting down next to Stephen and Malachite. Stephen jumped up and clapped his hands together.

"In hungry! I'm gonna make breakfast!" Stephen yelled running over to the kitchen to see Yellow Pearl already working on some food. It was supposed to be a pie but it really didn't look like it.

"I'm already making breakfast Stephen," Yellow Pearl said handing a piece of the pie to Stephen.

"I...thanks I guess," Stephen said running back to the couch and flopping onto it almost spilling pie onto Peridot.

Peridot grumbled something about Stephen being a mess. Malachite smiled and asked , "Stephen can I try some of that... What is it called?"

"It's called pie! Malachite you're silly!" Stephen giggled handing her a bit of it. Malachite opened her mouth and ate the piece. Her face contorted weirdl and she quickly ran outside to spit it out.

"Ha ha ha ha!" Stephen laughed practically falling off the couch. Peridot stood up and went over to the temple gate. A small green light flickered on and then the gate opened up to her room.

Malachite came back inside and sat back down on the couch. Stephen looked up at Malachite and asked, "Today can I go into the town?"

Malachite frowned. She knew that Stephen wasn't suppose to go into the town. He was supposed to stay at the temple his entire life. That's why they had created the fence. It was a fence that surrounded the entirety of the temple.

"No. I'm sorry. One day you can go to the town," Malachite lied. Lying to Stephen was pretty much felt like getting shattered. Stephen's face saddened and he concocted a scheme.

Later that day while no one was around Stephen crept outside and ran over to the fence. He quickly climbed over it and ran to the nearest building that intrigued him. It looked like a large pink circle was sitting on the top of a building. There was a sign that said 'The Big Donut' and inside stood two figures. One short and the other one was tall and skinny. Stephen walked up to the door and opened it revealing himself to the figures.

"Hello and welcome to The Big Donut how may I help you?" The first, shorter figure asked smiling. The other figure didn't say anything and kept scrolling through a small device in his hands.

"Uh...what's a d-o-n-u-t?" Stephen asked looking around at all of the sweets and drinks.

"What's a donut?" The skinny one asked looking down at Stephen from his phone.

"A donut is a treat that is made out of bread and covered in frosting," The short one explained smiling. She grabbed one from under the counter and handed if to Stephen.

"On the house. But don't tell my boss," The short one smiled and winked. Stephen took a bite out of it and his eyes started to glow.

"Oh man it's delicious! Thank you!" Stephen said running out the door. Once Stephen returned to the temple fence he saw Malachite, Peridot, and Yellow Pearl standing at it.

"You went out," Peridot said disappointment lacing her voice. Malachite didn't say anything and just frowned turning away. Yellow Pearl glared at Stephen.

"You weren't supposed to go into the town. Y-your mother told me that you where never to enter that town!" Yellow Pearl screamed a few tears going down her face. Yellow Pearl ran off and Peridot watched as she left.

"Get in here. You are never to leave the house. We tried to let you go onto the beach but no more. Peridot will now have to watch you," Malachite said walking back to the temple.

Peridot stood at the fence and waited for Stephen to climb back over go to the temple. Stephen sighed and climbed over the fence. Stephen grabbed Peridot's hand and she lead him back to the temple.

Over the next few nights Stephen would sneak out of the temple when all of the gems weren't around and go into the town to talk with all of the people living and working there.
