The Others

Avengers Compound
4:35pm

Tony and Steve get back into the compound and head to the main sitting room. Steve goes and sets the bags of toys and clothes in Tony's bedroom and goes back to little Tony in the sitting room, to find Fury sitting with Tony.

Tony's smiling and giggling as Fury talks to him and laughs as well. Steve pauses, a bit shocked to see Nick Fury smile. He's never seen him smile, actually smile.l Fury notices Steve enter the room. "Rogers. You did good picking out his clothes." Steve let's out a short chuckle. "well, actually it was all Tony. He picked everything out." Steve admits."So the Captain America shirt and doll weren't your idea?" Fury asks with a small grin. Steve shakes his head.

"No. I like Capin Amerwica. He also got me Iron-Man shoes, see!" Tony lifts and sticks out his little feet to show off his new shoes. "Wow! That's awesome. They look real good on you, little Tones." Steve looks at Fury with a small smile, liking the nickname Fury gave Tony.

"Yeah. I'm a supahewo too, he said. I build things and fwy!" Little Tony exclaims ecstatically. Fury smiles wide at Tony and reaches up a hand, gently fondling his curly brown hair. "You sure are. You're an amazing superhero! One of the best." Fury exclaims. He's not just saying those things to indulge Tony. He means it, because those things ARE true.

"Cool! Tank you, furry." Little Tony says Fury's name like an animals fur. Fury nods his head then looks back to Steve. "Rogers? Can I speak with you a moment?" Steve nods his head and begins to walk to talk to Fury. "We'll be right over there, okay Tones?" Fury points to the kitchen area. "Okay." Tony replies and focuses back on his Captain America rabbit.

Once they reach a spot in the kitchen where Tony can't hear them, Fury begins to speak. "I notified the others." "So, they know what's happened to Tony?" Fury nods his head. "Yes. They don't believe it, but yeah. When they all get back I'm gonna have Banner try to figure out what was given to Tony and try to turn him back to his normal self. I'm also gonna have Barton and Romanoff try to find out who did this to Tony and track the bastard down." Steve nods his head, in agreement.

"For now, I'd like you to be his caretaker. Watch him, feed him, bathe him, the works. Right now, you're all he's got. I have to try and figure this out as well, but if anything happens or you need anything, do not hesitate to call me." "Yes Sir." "Hahahaha!" They look over at Tony who is giggling from what ever his imagination is creating, as he entertains himself with the stuffed rabbit. Both men smile at the sight.

  Steve looks back to Fury. "I promise. I'll protect him with my life, sir." Steve promises, very serious and fullheheartedly. Fury nods his head. "I know you will."

7:55pm

"Okay, Little Tones. Time for bed." Steve says to Tony who is reading one of his math books. "Can I wead one more page?" He looks up at Steve with big doe eyes and pouty lips. Well, I'd be an absolute monster if I said no to that face. Steve smiles and nods his head. "Yeah. But just one more." "Tank you." Tony replies, happily and goes straight back to reading.

  6 minutes later, Tony closes the book and stands up with a yawn. "Wow. You read quick." Steve compliments as he walks over to Tony. "Well, I wanted to wook over it but I pwomised I would go to bed after I wed it." Once Steve gets next to Tony, Tony emediately grabs Steve's hand and waits to be taken to bed. Steve looks down at little Tony, a little taken aback by the action.

  Steves lips slowly curve up into a small smile. He's never had a kid. Never really thought about having a kid. But this kid, Little Tony really makes him want one. Well . . . not just any kid. This one. He's growing very attached to this little boy, but he knows once they figure out how to get the older Tony back, they have to do it. It would be wrong not to.
