A ship came onto the landing pad. Captain Rex stared at it intensely. When blast doors opened, two figures stepped out of it. One of them was covered in Mandalorion armor, while the other was so familiar to him. He could've swore his heart was beating faster, than ever before. The female Togruta looked at him, love shone brighter than a thousand stars in her bright, ocean eyes. Her orange skin danced in color. Though the captain still had his helmet on he could only try to resist the urge to take it off. He then glanced at his general who nodded in return. That is what Rex took as the signal to snap of his helmet and approach Ahsoka for the first time since a year ago. When she stepped in front of him, she smiled softly.

" Ni kar'taylir darasuum gar, alor'ad Rex." She whispered to him. The tenderness in her voice, the way it sent the good types of shivers down his back. It took all his strength not to go weak at his knees. They had been lovers for three years and she still managed to things like this to him. Ahsoka put her hand on his helmet as a sign of respect. To everyone else that it was their bond was, but to them, it was a river, a rush. It came down on him like a wave, the deep love and respect they held for each other was a small reason they had fallen. Rex knew one thing, when you fall there is no flying back up. Not when you are falling, and you have arms wrapped around you securely.

" Ahsoka," Rex's voice cracked, pain filled it. " I missed you." He said, finishing his sentence. The emotions in his voice seemed to echo off every surface, wall, crevice, and corner of the Resolute. Rex had a memory come back to him. It had been a late night. And the tension had been very high, like the tension in the air here.

*Memory*

A small, huddled shape lay on the medical bed. She had a breathing mask on her face. Her breaths where sometimes short, while others where long and raspy. They were uneven, and that worried the captain at her feet. Rex had his head leaning softly against the table by her bed. He was worried for her, no to say that was a lie. He wasn't merely scared, he was terrified at what might become of him if she died. He would just be another number, another monster, another clone. Nothing else, just another monster the Republic and the Kaminoans had made. Rex felt something stir besides him. He jolted up right, surprised.

Ahoska's eyelids fluttered open to reveal her hazy, ocean orbs. The stripes on her once greying lekku where now a little brighter. Her dull skin now returning to its beautiful orange. "R-rex," She croaked, her throat feeling dry.

"Sh, cyare, sleep. You need rest." He told her gently as he grabbed a cup full of water, offering it to her, she declined. "You need it, please cyare. You promised me not get hurt like you did when the Blue Shadow Virus happened. And look at you, you have not obeyed." Rex said, chuckling a little, before his expression once again was filled with dread. His eyes held a silent desperate plea."Cyare, you need to take care of your self more." He added. Ahsoka realized why he said what he said, and so took his offering of water. "There, that's better, right cyare?" He questioned her.

Ahsoka nodded her head up and down. The tension in the air arose as she realized someone was coming. "Rex, someone is here-" Rex cut her off by soothing her.

"Well that doesn't worry me cyare, you are my first priority at this moment." He rumbled softly. He then heard the approaching footsteps.

"What in the name of the force is going on in here?" A male voice asked. Rex recognized his brother Kix. Kix was the head-medic for the 501st, so he was probably coming to check up on his wounded vod, and commander.

"Kix, if you tell anyone of this I swear I personally dropkick you off a bridge." Captain seethed. He was embarrassed that Kix had to see that. To all the clones in the 501st he was a leader, a warrior, a soldier. Not a gentle lover. Kix should know this, because of all the times he had to stun Captain Rex and drag his unconscious body through the ship to the med-bay.
