Chapter 6
I groan hearing the familiar blaring noise coming from my phone. Summer has officially ended.
I roll over and turn off the awful noise: 5:30 a.m. someone put me out of my misery. Signing heavily, I get out of my bed and pick up the outfit I set out last night: white, flowy shorts, and a tight, gingham shirt.
After putting on my outfit, I spray my hair, making my curl bounce back to life. I finish off by brushing on some mascara and putting on some lip gloss. I look up and down in the mirror, feeling satisfied by appearance for once.
When I open my door I head towards the bathroom. Before I can knock on the door it swings open. I look up to meet a sleepy Harry, faintly smiling at me.
"Good morning," he spoke in a raspy voice. He looked my up and down quickly before opening his mouth to speak again, "You look... great."
I feel a blush rising in my checks, but cover it up with my sarcasm. "And you look... very tired." I laugh and he hits my shoulder gently. "Go get ready," I smile back at him. He nods, brushing past me and heading back to his room.
After I finish in the bathroom, I walk down stairs and find Harry eating a bowl of cereal. I scoff at him and he gives me an odd expression. I go into the cupboard and grab out the package of tostadas. Then I open the fridge, grabbing my shredded cheese and black beans.
"Haze, please tell me you are not about to eat Mexican food for breakfast," Harry laughs.
I give him a teasing glare and go back to making my tostadas, "You know, Harry Styles, you shouldn't knock it until you try it." He shakes his head and smiles back at his bowl.
After finishing our breakfast, Harry and I hop in the car and head to school. We listen to some Imagine Dragons on the way, alternating our favorite songs by them. Pulling into the busy parking lot, I find a spot and turn to Harry as I put the car in park. He is staring at the school, his green eyes filled with nerves once again.
I grab his hand, giving him a nod of reasurment, "Ready?"
He grins at me and nods his head back.
Once we enter the school, there's excitement filling the halls. People are screaming and laughing with their friends. I already see the cliques forming. It's weird being at the top of the food chain, ya know? And don't get me started on the incoming freshman (barf.)
I show Harry to his math room, spotting Niall and Liam inside. I wave to the boys and Harry thanks me. He takes the seat next to Niall and I turn out the door, heading to my AP Literature classroom.
I walk into the room and spot all my girls. This is the one class we all managed to be in, since there's only one hour of it. I sit behind Amara, and in front of Phoebe. Lily is sitting to my left, Hailey is behind her, and Ayla in front of Lily.
We take this time to catch up quickly on our weekends, "Haze! Was it amazing spending the weekend at the cabin with Harry," Phoebe asks. Always sticking her nose into my business.
I roll my eyes and simply respond to her comment, "Yes, Phe. It was very fun."
Amara grabs my hands and looks at my eyes deeply, "Did you stare into those dreamy green eyes?" She laughs, and I turn red in the face.
Before I can answer her, Mr. Hamerman walks in. His normal blank stare is gazing over each student. Once class begins, we do the normal first day bs. Bored out of my mind, I stare at the clock. I wait for the bell to ring so I can go to my next hour, chemistry with Harry.
As soon as the bell rings, I pack up my bag quickly and leave the room, barely saying goodbye to my friends. I walk down the side staircase, and down the science hallway, straight to the chemistry room.
