It started off as any other day. You were dressed in a much lighter, simple baby blue dress, with short sleeves and a V-neck, and sat at your small wooden desk in your room. With a pen in your hand, and a blank, fresh sheet of paper, writing a letter to your mother at the {Last Name} kingdom. The first day you had arrived at the D kingdom, you had been afraid of having such a goofy husband as Prince Luffy.
Now it had been three months since your arrival, and the wedding date would be here soon. You mother made a deal with you, that if you didn't enjoy the kingdom in those three months, she would call it off.
But you had fallen hard for that ridiculous raven haired male. Despite how rambunctious and crazy he was, Luffy and you had grown to care for each other. Every day, you would eat breakfast together, (with him only eating large piles of meat of course) and then would take long walks in the gardens. You would talk about your interests, and his dreams to set out into the sea.
Particularly, yesterday's conversation had caught you quite off guard.
~~~Flashback~~~
You and Luffy were walking past the vegetable garden, Robin having to smack his hand away from any sort of food he tried to touch until you finally had dragged him away.
Now the two of you were walking to a nearby outside altar. It was a simple white, with a dome shape on top, and the vines had grown back to life, with red roses growing along the prickly vines stretching to the top.
Luffy was holding your hand, and stops in front of the altar. "{NIckname}....." he begins, back facing towards you. "The wedding date is coming up soon right?"
You pause, recalling the wedding was set to be a week from now. "Yeah, it should be a week from now. What's wrong, Luffy?" you ask, confused at his odd behavior. Finally, the male turned around to face you, grabbing you by the shoulders gently.
"I'm going to run away." he says.
Everything around you suddenly went silent. The bird were quiet, and the sounds of the guards talking at the palace gates became muffled. You felt your heart shatter. He was leaving you. "W-what..? But Luffy-"
"I want to go to sea!" he says, "I don't want to be stuck in this stuffy palace." he says, his eyes practically gleaming as he talked about the sea. "Think about all those adventures out there that we can have!"
You smile sadly. Of course he wanted to go out to the sea. He had told you about adventures he wanted to go on, since the day you had arrived. "Don't worry I won't stop you, Luffy-ku-"
Wait a second.
You felt your breath hitch in your throat, recalling his words again. "Did you say....we?" you repeat slowly, and Luffy grins. "Yeah! {Nickname}, will you run away with me?" he asks.
Just hearing those words seemed to light a spark in you. Run away from the kingdom. No longer be pampered by royal servants and live a life of adventure on the sea. You and your prince- no, your captain sailing on the sea and battling the marines. Meeting new friends.
"Luffy-kun....." you begin. "I would love that idea." you smile to him with a nod. "Take me to sea with you."
Luffy's grin seemed to become two times bigger. "Yahoo!!" he cheers hugging you tightly. "{Nickname}'s going to sea with me! {Nickname}'s going to sea with me! {Nickname}'s going to sea with me!" he chants making you cover his mouth with your hand.'
"Keep it down you goofball!" you laugh. "What if they hear us?" Luffy stops for a moment, making a pouty face. "Oh yeah..." he mutters. You both look down for a moment, feeling your faces heat up as you remember the close contact from before. Then the unexpected happens.
