39: THE DAY

THIRTY-NINE: REALITY
MAY 15, 2019

As the petite girl wakes
up from her slumber she
looks at her surrounds and
notices that she was in fact
still in bed.

She looks around for
her phone and finally
finds it at her bed side
table.

As she opens up her phone
she notices the time, 8:30am.
she stretches her body on the bed
before getting up to use the
bathroom.

As she brushes her teeth
she hears the door to her
room open and she assumed
that it was Daniel.

She spits out the remainder
of the toothpaste in her
mouth and rinses it out with
water before drying her
mouth with a towel.

She opens the door
to the room and sees
Daniel on the balcony
with the phone up
to his ear and his back
facing her.

"Yes mom everything is
fine i'm just a bit nervous
on what she'll say... yeah I
hope so and mom I love you,
but I actually have to go
because we're leaving in an
hour or two...okay bye I'll let
you know what she says,"
and with that Daniel
hangs up the phone and
sighs on how nervous he
was.

He didn't realize that
Melissa was behind him
until he turned around and
letting out a small scream.

"Oh my gosh mel
baby don't do that,"
Daniel holds his chest
trying to calm down
his nerves from his little
scare.

The girl giggles at him
and holds her hands out
for him to grab.

He looks down at her
in awe and smiles
because he knew that
he couldn't get mad at
her for something like
that.

He grabs her hands and
quickly he pulls her in
and stretches both their
arms out and pecks her
small nose and then
pecks her lips.

"Who were you on the
phone with?" she asks
him with curiosity since
she wasn't able to hear
what they were both
saying.

"Oh my mom she was
asking what our plans
were for today," he says
trying to cover up the
fact that her mom was
actually asking about if
he was still doing the
thing that he was supposed
to do today since today was
the day.

"Oh okay you should've
told me I would've said
hi," she says before
pouting at him, at this
Daniel finds her ever
more adorable and pecks
her lips before dragging
her to the room.

"Well we've got a long
day ahead of us so lets
quickly eat breakfast
and head out," he says
and opens the small
curtains around the bed
and to reveal two plates
with breakfast that had
both their favorite food.

After Melissa and Daniel
finished eating breakfast
and goofing off by flicking
food to one another, Melissa
started getting ready since he
said that they were all going
on a small hike.

After a few minutes, she
finished getting ready and
opened the door to go
downstairs and see
everyone ready and talking
to each other.

"Okay lets head out,
I'm ready," her voice
interrupts everyones
chatter and making
them all stop and to
get up and leave.

Everyone went in
different rented jeeps
and Daniel was driving
the jeep while Melissa
sat in the passenger and
Corey was in the back
vlogging the trip while
Melissa was looking at
the beautiful view.

"So how long is this
walk?" Melissa asked
Daniel already knowing
that she would ask that
question.

"I think the reviews said
that it would mostly take
them an hour to get to
where this beautiful
waterfall is," he smiled and
Melissa simply said "okay."
making Daniel nervous for
the rest of the trip since he
knew how nervous he would
be asking an important
question at that waterfall.

Daniel pulled onto the
dirt of where the hike
starts and everyone was
already standing waiting
for the couple.

Daniel locked the doors after
they both get out and grabbed
Melissas hand and dragged her
between a small crowd of girls
and boys who were fans who
seemed to have found them. She
looked behind her to made sure
Corey was behind them and
also notice the fans saying
'hi' to her.

They both walk to the
group that was waiting
and the closer they got,
they can already smell
the nature and feel the
weather get hotter.

"Finally!" Zach groans,
pushing himself off of the
small fence that he was
sitting on while having
Velvet in one of those baby
strap things on his chest.

They all started walking up
the hill after they all made
sure to have water bottles,
Melissa being responsible
as always she had her
backpack on her and Daniel
made sure to pack it with a
bunch of water and snacks
while they complained on
how much is too much.

As they walked up the hill
they saw a lot of birds that
they have never seen in
person before until today
and they also admired the
beautiful green trees.

"Imagine living here forever!"
Gabbie says as she look
around in awe, it was clear that
the girl was truly fascinated with
the Hawaii trip.

All she talked about was how she
wanted to move there and how
beautiful it was.

"Slow your roll there bucko," Jack
teases and making Gabbie roll her
eyes at him.

As they finally reached to the
waterfall a smile placed
itself upon Melissas lips as
she stared at the beautiful
waterfall. This brought her
eyes out and made her tear
up a bit on how she missed
her home. This is where her
home was, but in her heart
L.A. will always be her home.

While Melissa seemed to be
distracted with the waterfall
and having one of the girls
take pictures of her, the rest
of the groups focus was on
Daniel.

They all knew that this is about
to be the place where it changes
both his and Melissas future.

The group tried to keep quiet as
they started recording and telling
Daniel; 'you got this'

On the hike each and one of the
boys already gave him a pep-talk,
but the only boy who hasn't was
Corey.

It was clear that Corey knew the
right words to say in this situation
since him and Melissa have been
best friends for the longest time
and was the one who introduced
then to each other.

"Okay buddy today is the day and now
is the time for you to ask Melissa the
question that has been bothering you
this whole trip because we all know
how nervous you have been. Now I
know how you're really nervous right
now, but remember she loves you and
you love her, nothing is going to change
that and if you ask and she says no, which
probably wont happen, but if she does it's
okay it probably just wasn't the right time,
but right now you need to man up and go
over there and just let it flow out," and
with that Corey finishes his small pep-talk
and daps him up as Daniel says a small
'thank you.'

Nervously Daniel thinks to himself that it
was now or never and starts walking over
to Melissa while everyone low key starts
recording while Zack takes pictures trying
not to make it obvious.

"Daniel come get in this picture it's such a
beautiful view," Melissa says happily and
grabbing his hand.

"You're a beautiful view," Daniel says
making her blush and hide her face in his
shoulder and making everyone laugh.

"Melissa I want to ask you something,"
Daniel says pulling her away from his
shoulder and instantly becoming nervous
on what he was gonna say next.
