Every now and again God steps away from the keyboard of the universe. Naturally, this only happens every few millennia, but that doesn't matter. Point is, it happens, and when it does, meddlers like me like to get involved.
I'm God's understudy, and conveniently, the narrator of this story. Everyone knows our favourite angel and demon belong together. Well. Everyone except themselves, I suppose. I've commandeered God's computer to make sure that they do just that. Get together.
Oh? What's that? I shouldn't go meddling with stuff that doesn't involve me? Well, seeing as how I'm acting deity right now, I'm pretty sure it does. Everything affects me. Including the fact that the funny bone isn't actually a bone. That's a bit misleading isn't it? To call a nerve a bone? It makes you think it's a lot sturdier than it actually is. Anyways.
I've decided to start our love story in an angel's bookshop on a cloudy London afternoon, just under a week until the end of the world. Yeah. That sounds romantic, and close enough to God's original timeline of events. And besides, how bad could one little, tiny, alteration to the fabric of reality be? It's not like I'm going to bring about the end times. They'll stop that, together, like they're supposed to.
