The Lunch

Dear Diary,

Today is the start of the agreement. I hope I'll be able to do it well! I just wanna prove Kat that she's wrong. I don't really like him. That's all.

Wish me luck!

Love,
Allena

I sighed and stared at the paper I'm holding.

Okay, you can do this!

I opened the Facebook app and went to the friend requests.

I saw Kean's name and confirmed it!

And now we're friends on Facebook. Great!

"Kat" I turned on my side to look at her.

She's not here. Where's that girl?

And then suddenly our professor arrived.

I looked at my phone to text her but I saw a message from her.

"Can't go to school today! May sakit ako. Samahan mo na lang si Kean maglunch. At mas mabuting hindi muna tayo madalas magkasama para mas madali mong gawin yun! Good luck! Kaya mo yan!"

I sighed.

Okay. I have to do it alone. Allena, you are a strong independent woman!

After our 3rd period class I decided to sit on the bench I usually go.

It's nearly lunch but I haven't seen Kean on the campus.

What if I chat him na lang?

As if I was the one who wanted this lunch! Duh.

I just sit there looking at people walking in the field. And then my eyes caught Kean walking towards me. He probably thinks I'm waiting for him!

I immediately grabbed a book inside my bag and pretended to read it.

"Hey." He said when he reached me.

"You still up for lunch?" He looked at me smiling.

"Oh, yeah sure. I'm just reading for the next class." I said raising my book before putting it inside my bag.

He smiled.

Weird.

"Studious." He blurted out all of a sudden.

I just ignored what he said.

I don't know what to say!

"You ready?" He asked me.

I nodded and stood up.

We went outside and looked for a tricycle.

"Where do you wanna eat?" He asked me.

"Let's go to Mcdo," I said with excitement and suddenly craved for their fries.

Fries. Heaven.

He laughed.

"What?" I raised an eyebrow.

He shook his head.

"Let's go," he said when a tricycle came in front of us.

I went inside.

"Manong, Mcdo Old." I heard him said and sat beside me.

I immediately smelled his perfume. He smells like fresh watermelon.
